Umbran Tears of Blood are the primary collectibles in Bayonetta 3. There are 3 of them that can be found per chapter, totaling 39 Umbran Tears throughout the game. Collecting all 3 Umbran Tears of Blood in a chapter will unlock an alternate challenge of that chapter called “Phenomenal Remnant.” In this mode, you’ll be put back into the same chapter but in a time-based battle challenge.
Each Umbran Tears of Blood is being held by the Cats, Toads, and Crows that are hidden throughout each chapter. You’ll have to catch them before you’re able to get the Umbran Tears. This can involve some chasing or even Demon Masquerades to get a proper hold of them.

Chapter 1 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Cat (Chapter 1)
The first Umbran Tear can be found in the first area once you’ve arrived in Shibuya. Look to the left side in the ruins of a collapsed building and you’ll see the cat holding the Umbran Tear of Blood glowing red.
The Toad (Chapter 1)
The second Umbran Tear can be found just after going through the 101 Tower in Shibuya. It is being held by the frog who is hanging off the green Perseus sign.
The Crow (Chapter 1)
The third Umbran Tear can be found in the Sewers after the area where you Rodin gives you G-Pillar. Continue through the sewer until you find a large cylinder area where the crow is sitting across. You’ll have to give chase in order to get the Umbran Tear of Blood though.
Chapter 2 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Crow (Chapter 2)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found just across the train station you arrive in Chapter 2. There is a white crow holding the Umbran Tear of Blood flying around a circular building next to where the trucks are parked.
The Cat (Chapter 2)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found not too far from the crow. In between where the trucks are parked, there are cats that are lying around. One of them holding the Umbran Tear of Blood is glowing white.
The Toad (Chapter 2)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after the Spider boss fight when Bayonetta arrives in the large twin buildings. The toad holding the Umbran Tear is hiding behind some rock debris on the left side of the area.
Chapter 3 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Toad (Chapter 3)
In the beginning of Chapter 3, the Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after platforming through the rooftops of broken buildings. When you head inside the cave and traverse through the broken trains, the toad can be found on the very edge before a huge drop. Bayonetta will automatically pick it up when coming close to it.
The Crow (Chapter 3)
The second Umbran Tears of Blood can be found shortly after making the drop after finding the Toad. The Crow holding the Umbran Tear is sitting on the edge of the tall building you’ll reach just when get on top of the broken roads. It blends in easily in the background.
The Cat (Chapter 3)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after arriving in Taito where the big shrine is. The cat holding the Umbran Tear is near the stores on the left and loves to slip past the narrow alleyways making it difficult to catch. There is a large metal object on the roof that you can attack to block one of the entrances making it easy to catch.
Chapter 4 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Crow (Chapter 4)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after completing Verse 2. When jumping above the fallen bridge filled with magma, you’ll eventually reach an area with two stone statues guarding the entrance. Don’t go inside, instead head left where you’ll see some scaffolding you can platform to get above. The crow holding the Umbran Tear will perch on the fence by the flag.
The Cat (Chapter 4)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 4 when the soldiers start cheering at Bayonetta. Instead of continuing straight, head to the right path where you’ll be able to platform to a building above. The cat holding the Umbran Tear can be found there.
The Toad (Chapter 4)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found on the large bridge in the path where soldiers are cheering at Bayonetta. When making your way through the bridge, you’ll see a large metal swinging cauldron filled with magma. Go behind where the door is and you’ll see the toad holding the Umbran Tear.
Chapter 5 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Cat (Chapter 5)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 1 just at the beginning of the chapter. Before you reach the windmill that seems to contain magma, follow the corridor until you see and opening in the left with stairs leading to the bottom.
The Toad (Chapter 5)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 1 just at the start of the level where you can see a windmill that seems to contain magma. You’ll use the broken stairs to the right to go down the arena like area at the bottom. There is a wall on the opposite side of the broken staircase where the Toad with the Umbran Tear is lying on the roof.
The Crow (Chapter 5)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood is right next to Rodin’s Shop in the chapter. You’ll find the crow holding it on your way throughout the main path just after Verse 8.
Chapter 6 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Cat (Chapter 6)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in the very beginning of the level. When starting the chapter, instead of going straight head to the right immediately and you’ll find an opening where the cat is just sitting at the end of the corridor.
The Crow (Chapter 6)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found not too far from Rodin’s Shop in the long pathway. The crow holding it is perched on the lone tower at the end and will take off once you get near it. Use the Demon Masquerade for the Ignis Araneae Yo-Yo to be able to catch up to it quickly.
The Toad (Chapter 6)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 7 right when the bridge collapses. The Toad holding it is blending on the large shield in the remains of the statue right in front of you.
Chapter 7 Umbran Tears of Blood
The Crow (Chapter 7)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found quite a bit ways away from the starting location. There are plenty of large open areas in the desert so you’ll have to go through at least until you reach Verse 6 where you’ll find the crow holding the Umbran Tear perched on the ledge of the cliff on the main path.
The Toad (Chapter 7)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found right after getting to Rodin’s Shop where you can climb up some small stairs to reach the waterfall of sands. Take the detour route where you’ll end up behind the waterfalls and you’ll find the toad holding the Umbran Tear hiding behind some rocks.
The Cat (Chapter 7)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found on one of the debris in the same area as where you found the second Umbran Tear. You’ll have to platform through the large river of sand and you’ll see the cat holding the Umbran Tear sitting on the remains of a destroyed building.
Chapter 8 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Toad (Chapter 8)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in the beginning of the chapter behind a waterfall being held by a toad. Go to the area with a large body of water and head right. The waterfall is behind the houses and has swarms of toads just lying around. The toad holding the Umbran Tear is just right behind the waterfall.
The Crow (Chapter 8)
The second Umbran Tear can be found right where you find Rodin’s Shop in the bridge where there is a river of sand underneath. Just before you hit the music player, look right and down below where you’ll see the crow holding the Umbran Tear perched.
The Cat (Chapter 8)
The third Umbran Tear can be found in the underground temple. Once you head inside you’ll eventually reach a room with pillars you can platform on top of. The cat holding the Umbran Tear is on top of one of them and will jump from pillar to pillar where you’ll have to give chase.
Chapter 9 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Toad (Chapter 9)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in the beginning of the chapter. Head right from the start to where the waterfall is. You’ll see some ledges up front with small patches of grass. The toad holding the Umbran Tear is hiding on the rightmost patch of grass.
The Crow (Chapter 9)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in the large room where you’ll need to use your new summon to activate the windmills continue your progress. Don’t progress yet once the area starts having strong gusts of wind because the crow holding the Umbran Tear will be flying around the area. You’ll have to get on top of the boulder using your Spider form and then use Madama Butterfly and fly with the direction of the wind in time to capture the bird.
The Cat (Chapter 9)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood is in the large room where Verse 7 takes place and where you’ll have to do the scale puzzle. The cat holding it is on the opposite door of where you entered.
Chapter 10 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Crow (Chapter 10)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found on the ledge just after Verse 2 on the left side of the tower with the elevator is where the cliffs are. The crow holding it is perched nearly at the end of the path and will fly away towards the end once you’re near enough.
The Cat (Chapter 10)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found when you first enter Paris. On the right side of the road where cars are parked there is an escalator leading to underground. The cat holding the Umbran Tear is resting on the ledge and will jump down once you approach. Quickly cross the street to where another entrance leading to the Metro and jump down. You should be able to catch the cat there.
The Toad (Chapter 10)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found when you first enter Paris. On the left side of the street there is a road going left just past the green bus. Enter the gate and look behind the three to where a damaged garage door is. Attack it until it breaks down because the toad holding the Umbran Tear is behind it.
Chapter 11 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Crow (Chapter 11)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found at the start of the level. Head down the main path until you get to the open area and go right. The crow holding the Umbran Tear is perched on some rocks next to the broken down bus.
The Toad (Chapter 11)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in the dark underground section where you’ll have to use one of your demons to reveal the path. Platform across until you get to where the light is but before continuing, turn around just as you’re about to touch the other side and you’ll find the toad holding the Umbran tear behind a large pillar of rocks.
The Cat (Chapter 11)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after exiting the dark underground area. Turn around and go to where the bus is and you’ll see a dead end street with a challenge side mission at the end. On the right side of the street are red curtains that you can hop on top of to get to the cat.
Chapter 12 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Crow (Chapter 12)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 2 where you arrive to where the dead soldiers on the ground are. Instead of continuing to the left, turn right past the Aphrodite shop and head into a path where you’ll eventually head into a large open area. The crow holding the Umbran Tear is right across you perched on some debris that looks like a ramp.
The Toad (Chapter 12)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 2 as well past the dead soldiers left of the Aphrodite store. Continue along the path until you reach two black cars then turn left just before the police car and the flipped red bus. There is a platform beneath you on the left side that you can jump down to where the toad holding the Umbran Tear is sticking to the wall.
The Cat (Chapter 12)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found after Verse 4. When you get to where Rodin’s Shop is, take a sharp left turn past the burning red bus. The cat holding the Umbran Tear is at the end of the path. Once you get near, the cat will crawl under the bus. You’ll have to destroy the cars around the debris ahead to find it again.
Chapter 13 Umbran Tears of Blood Locations
The Cat (Chapter 13)
The first Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in Ginnungagap, the Chaotic Rift. Continue down the main path as everything is falling apart and you’ll see an elevated platform on the left side where some blue plants are. The cat holding the Umbran Tear is just waiting on that platform.
The Toad (Chapter 13)
The second Umbran Tear of Blood can be found in Ginnungagap, the Chaotic Rift as well very near where the cat was. The toad holding the Umbran Tear is right across the elevated platform, hiding behind the glowing pink stalagmite on the right side of the main path.
The Crow (Chapter 13)
The third Umbran Tear of Blood can be found a little ahead where the first and second where. Continue down the main path until you reach the second glowing stalagmite up ahead. When you climb the platform, the crow will perch behind the smaller stalagmite.
