There are 21 Dead Space Remake weapon upgrades to collect in total, for 3 upgrades per weapon. In this guide, we’ll tell you where you can find every weapon upgrade for all 7 weapons that can be found in Dead Space Remake.

The Dead Space Remake offers a different path toward upgrading weapons than the original. The player now has to look for them and install them from a workbench. Finding all weapon upgrades is required to get the Built To Order trophy. We have listed the Dead Space Remake All Weapon Upgrade Locations (per weapon) below:

    Plasma Cutter Upgrade Locations

    In this Article:

    Plasma Cutter Upgrade Locations

Plasma Cutter Upgrade 1: (Cartridge Rack) This upgrade can be acquired on a bench after blowing up the barricade to Medical.

Plasma Cutter Upgrade 2: (Heat Accumulator) First available from Chapter 3, this upgrade can be bought from the Store for 11,000 credits.

Plasma Cutter Upgrade 3: (Weighted Blades) After riding the gondola in chapter 8 on the way to deploying the antenna, this upgrade is found on a seat inside the Maintenance Locker Room.

    Pulse Rifle Upgrade Locations

    Pulse Rifle Upgrade Locations

Pulse Rifle Upgrade 1: (Kinetic Autoloader) This upgrade can be purchased from the store upon first finding the weapon in Chapter 3. It will cost 11,000 credits.

Pulse Rifle Upgrade 2: (P.C.S.I. Custom Magazine) This upgrade can be found on a shelf inside the Electrical Systems Storage in Chapter 4. To access the room, look around the broken window and use kinesis to move boxes aside to expose the fuse. Shoot it, and the door will unlock.

Pulse Rifle Upgrade 3: (High-Yield Grenades) Found in the Water Purification Storage Room in Chapter 10, this upgrade is can be found inside the first locker behind the first accessible door. This upgrade requires Master Override clearance.

    Ripper Upgrade Locations

    Ripper Upgrade Locations

Ripper Upgrade 1: (Ricochet Tracer) This upgrade can be purchased from the store for 11,000 credits upon finding the weapon in Chapter 3.

Ripper Upgrade 2: (Angled Launcher) This upgrade can be found inside B. Andonov’s office, the first office on the left in Flow Control in Chapter 6. (Careful for the acid.)

Ripper Upgrade 3: (Carbon-Fiber Blades) Found in the same room where the Ripper was found back in Engineering, this upgrade can be found inside a chest that requires a Master Override.

    Flamethrower Upgrade Locations

    Flamethrower Upgrade Locations

Flamethrower Upgrade 1: (Macroliter Fuel Tank) To gain access to this upgrade’s location, you’ll need to change the circuit breaker to zero gravity, then slowly drop down to the bottom floor where you’ll find the Utility Room. To acquire it, you’ll need to have Security Clearance Level 3.

Flamethrower Upgrade 2: (Gellified Hydrazine) This upgrade costs 11,500 credits from the store. First acquirable after picking up the weapon in Chapter 3.

Flamethrower Upgrade 3: (High-Pressure Nozzle) This upgrade is a tricky one since it can be acquired while running away from the Hunter Necromorph in Chapter 10. (Our guess is running away is a priority.)

To gain access to its location, you’ll need to grab the battery from the Deluxe Quiet Bunks and place it in a circuit breaker next to the bathrooms. Head into the Deluxe Shift Bunks after getting the door to open. The upgrade is inside a Master Override chest.

    Line Gun Upgrade Locations

    Line Gun Upgrade Locations

Line Gun Upgrade 1: (Ionized Capacitor) This upgrade costs 11,500 credits from the store upon finding the weapon in Chapter 5.

Line Gun Upgrade 2: (Precision Lasers) Once you’ve got the Master Override clearance, you find the upgrade inside a chest between the Hydroponics Central Hub and the Mining Tram Station.

Line Gun Upgrade 3: (Photon Energizer) In Chapter 10, go to the hallway between the Chemical Lab and Cryogenics. There you will find Lab Storage. You’ll need Security Level 3 to open it. The upgrade is inside one of the crates.

    Contact Beam Upgrade Locations

    Contact Beam Upgrade Locations

Contact Beam Upgrade 1: (Supersymmetry Tether) This upgrade can be bought from the store for 12,000 credits upon first finding the weapon in Chapter 4.

Contact Beam Upgrade 2: (Diffraction Module) Requiring Master Override clearance in Chapter 10, the room that contains this upgrade is located along the way to Tools Storage. It can be found inside a chest.

Contact Beam Upgrade 3: (Portable Heliotron) After going back to Medical in chapter 10, go down to the Main Lab. The room where the upgrade is located is in the back hallway. You’ll need a Security Level 3 clearance to open the door to Bioprosthetics Locker Room. The upgrade itself is on the workbench.

    Force Gun Upgrade Locations

    Force Gun Upgrade Locations

Force Gun Upgrade 1: (Subsonic Oscillator) This upgrade can be bought for 12,000 credits from the store upon finding the weapon in Chapter 6.

Force Gun Upgrade 2: (Gravitic Amplifier) On the way to destroying the second tendril in Chapter 10, head inside the Guest Consultant’s Suites, the place where the last bit for Nicole’s Investation side mission is. The upgrade is on the table.

Force Gun Upgrade 3: (Suspension Module) In Chapter 11, this upgrade can be found inside a Master Override chest inside the cargo bay. You can get it while relocating the Marker.

And these are all the weapon upgrades in the Dead Space Remake. As a final note, to unlock the Built to Order trophy, you’ll need to install each and every one of them while on a work bench.
