Dead Space Remake: How to heal?

The Necromorphs can deal a lot of damage to Isaac so you’re going to want to know how to heal in the Dead Space Remake. Even a single untreated injury can spell death if an enemy just happens to get too close. Here’s a guide explaining how to heal in the Dead Space Remake and the mechanics revolving around it.

How to heal in Dead Space Remake?

You need to use a Med Pack to heal in the Dead Space Remake. The amount of health you can restore depends on the type of Med Pack you use. Med Packs will take up your limited inventory space and will be consumed upon use.

A Med Pack is needed to heal every time you’re injured. The health bar is displayed on the back of Isaac’s suit. Blue means that he’s health, yellow means that he’s injured, and red means that he’s in danger. The lower the bar, the more you need to find a Med Pack and heal yourself.

On PC, press F to use a Med Pack in the Dead Space Remake. On PS5, press can the O button to use a Med Pack. And on the Xbox Series X and S, the B button will heal you. If you’re not comfortable with these controls, you can remap them by pausing the game and going to controller or keyboard & mouse layout and select Customize.

Considering that there are different Med Packs in the game, you probably want to be conservative. Instead of pressing the button to heal, you can open your Inventory and manually select which Med Pack you want to use. You don’t want to accidentally use a Medium Med Pack for a small injury.

Where to find Med Packs in Dead Space Remake?

Med Packs can be found by opening lockers, on shelves, or stomping enemies. There are several Med Packs located throughout the game that you need to keep an eye out for. Thankfully the game shows you where these Med Packs are if you’re close enough.

Does health automatically regenerate in Dead Space Remake?

Health will automatically regenerate but only for the Story difficulty in the Dead Space Remake. Once Isaac avoids damage for a certain amount of time, his health will begin to regenerate automatically.

Other difficulty modes will not feature a regenerating health for Isaac. You will have to rely on the use of Med Packs to restore your health if you’re playing on anything other than Story difficulty.
