The Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost has returned again for Halloween this October 2022. This popular event has many players scrambling to grind for its cosmetic rewards and some weapons. If you’re curious about what this year’s Festival of Lost has to offer, here is all we know about the event.

When Is the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost Release Date?

The Festival of the Lost event will release this October 18, 2022 for Destiny 2 this year. October 18 is Tuesday which is about the weekly reset for activities and shop items. The event will also be releasing alongside the mid-season weapon tuning patch.

During the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost event, The Tower hub will be laced with Halloween themed decorations to reflect the spooky holiday of October. All players are able to experience the Festival of the Lost regardless if they own the Destiny 2 expansions or not.

Bungie is adding a new Event Card that players can grind for goodies for the Festival of the Lost 2022. You’ll have to purchase it for around $10 which unlocks Halloween themed cosmetics, emotes, Ghost Shells, and the likes.

There’s no word on what the new activities are for this year’s Halloween event but we may see a return of the Haunted Lost Sectors that was added for the Festival of the Lost last year. They’re basically Lost Sectors but with spooky version of the enemies to fight against.

Triumphs also make a comeback for the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost. Players can grind for a new event title which brings them one step closer to the Reveler title which runs through all three events which includes this one, The Dawning (Christmas, 2022), and Guardian Games (Spring 2022) before making another return at the Solstice next year.

In Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost, there are rumors that masks may be making a return. Bungie made a mention of them in a recent blog post. However a leaker did find some files via datamining and shared them on Twitter.

Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost Rewards

Last year Bungie asked players to vote for which themed armor set will be up for the taking in the Festival of the Lost 2022. The choices were either Team Mech, Gundam themed armor, or Team Monster, which looked more beastly. Team Mech won with 52% of the players voting for it.

This means that players will be able to get the Mech themed armor once the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost is live.

Aside from the armor, players will get the chance to grind for a new Arc sniper rifle. The weapon has not been named as of yet, but dataminers were able to leak some details from Destiny 2’s files.

    – Aggressive Frame
    – Origin Trait: Search Party – This weapon is granted faster aim down sights speed and movement speed while aiming down sights when no allies are near.

This new Arc sniper rifle comes with the “Search Party” Origin Perk which promises to increase aim down sights speed and movement speed when no allies are present. Perfect for lone wolf snipers far away from their Fireteam or operating through Lost Sectors solo.
