The Parasiter in Evil West is a giant worm-like undead boss that has one of the largest health pools in the game. This boss has a large head with two tentacles sticking out the ground that can be tough to damage, but don’t fret. This guide will show you how to beat the Parasiter boss in Evil West, listing along some tips and tricks along the way.
How to Defeat The Parasiter in Evil West?
You have to kill the two tentacles first before you damage the main head of the Parasiter in Evil West. Only then will the boss really become invulnerable for you to damage.
It should be noted that the Parasiter does share some of its health with its two tentacles. This means that damaging its tentacles will also damage the main health pool of the boss. You’re best advised to get rid of both these tentacles as it leaves the main head vulnerable to damage.
The tentacles are best damaged with melee attacks. They’ll leave themselves vulnerable once they charge at you and stick into the ground. Also watch out for the yellow circle which indicates their vulnerability, shoot this and they’ll fall onto the ground which you can then unleash a barrage of melee attacks. It would also be a good idea to use the flamethrower here as it is very effective against the tentacles once they’re stunned.
Once you get rid of the tentacles, the main head will become more vulnerable to damage and sport the yellow circle weak spots. Shooting these with your guns will cause the Parasiter to take heavy damage. However it won’t stay that way for good as the Parasiter will eventually summon its tentacles back after some time.
After you damage its health enough, the Parasiter will leave cocoons on the ground. You need to dispatch these cocoons before they hatch because spawn minions which will be another problem if you let it. These minions spawned from cocoons will also explode upon death which provides another additional problem.
While its main head doesn’t attack much, it can deal damage. Watch for when it retracts its tentacles back to the ground, it will spew a stream of acid your way which you need to keep moving to dodge. It can also cause debris from above to fall which will be indicated by red danger mark zones.
