The volcano in Forza Horizon 5 is located in the western portion of Mexico, known as La Gran Caldera. The location should be easily spotted on the map as a large crater with winding roads that lead up to a body of water.
The volcano is one of the biggest landmarks in Forza Horizon 5, and this was one of the spectacular scenes that greeted players during the game’s intro. The La Gran Caldera is a bit difficult to miss but this inactive volcano can be dwarfed by the huge map of Mexico. Here is where you find it.
Forza Horizon 5 Where To Find The Volcano
The La Gran Caldera is located west of the map, in the Baja region. The volcano is pretty much that entire area. If you can make it to the top, the view is breath taking. In order to unlock that region you have to purchase a Horizon Adventure from the menu first.

From the menu, buy the Horizon Baja Cross Country Racing. This will unlock a few missions for you to do. These story missions introduces you to the area surrounding the volcano.

How to Find the Volcanologist Suit, Seismometer, and Hot Spring Lake Sample
Some of the optional objectives in Forza Horizon 5 can also be completed during the Baja Expedition. Dress up as a volcanologist, and the play the mission where you’ll need to find a seismometer, and collect a hot spring sample in order to complete the tasks for optional accolades.
Volcanologist Suit – there are buildings towards the far east of the volcano. Drive to them and press the button prompt which will make you put on the suit.
Seismometer – on the west side of the volcano is the large lake, go there next to the bank of it and you’ll get a button prompt to place the seismometer.
How to Smash Steam Vents
Unlike the optional accolades above for the Baja Expedition, the steam vents have no real predestined location. You simply have to look around the volcano and drive through the steam erupting from a small rock pile. The mission is to smash 5 steam vents to release geothermal energy. This will cross the objectives off your list.
