In the Shadow of Distance is a side quest in Sebastian Sallow’s relationship quests in Hogwarts Legacy. Sebastian learns that he gets banished by his uncle from their home and from seeing his twin sister, Anne, after he uses an Unforgivable Curse to save Anne from being harmed by Ranrok’s army.

How to unlock In the Shadow of Distance Relationship Quest
To unlock the In the Shadow of Distance Relationship Quest, you must first complete the In the Shadow of Time Relationship Quest. In case you have not received any update from Sebastian to start this quest, simply complete other side quests until Sebastian becomes available in the Undercroft.

In the Shadow of Distance relationship quest Walkthrough
After completing the previous relationship quest, travel back to the Undercroft. Wait for a day or complete other tasks first in case Sebastian’s quest line log does not get updated.
Speak with Sebastian in the Undercroft
Head back to the Undercroft and speak with Sebastian. He will ask you about the results of your conversation with his uncle. You’ll reveal that his uncle has banished Sebastian from ever stepping back into Feldcroft and meeting his twin sister again after using an Unforgivable Curse. Learning this, Sebastian becomes more determined to learn the secrets of the relic to save his sister from the effects of the curse.
