How to Unlock Ariel in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Make Ariel be a part of your village.

Ariel is famously known as the Little Mermaid who once lost her voice for the sake of being able to walk on land. Now, she finds herself in a strange island with no recollection as to how she got there. No matter how hard she tries to escape, she cannot find her way back to Dreamlight Valley which was once her home.

In this guide, we will talk about how to unlock Ariel in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Pre-requisites to unlock Ariel

To unlock Ariel, you must first complete the first few story quests until you are able to unlock Dazzle Beach. On the southeastern side of the beach, near the pillar and Skull Rock, you will find a mysterious paddle and a broken raft. Picking up the shovel will initiate “The Mysterious Wreck” quest with Goofy.

It will also help if the Glade of Trust and the Forest of Valor are unlocked as some of the needed materials can be obtained from those areas.

How to unlock Ariel in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlike some of the other unlockable characters, Ariel does not have her own realm, but rather she is stuck in a far away island that can be accessible via the raft. Which is why we will need Goofy’s help to repair the broken raft by the beach. This guide will start off from picking up the mysterious paddle.

Step 1: Give the Mysterious Paddle to Goofy

Talk to Goofy and give him the Mysterious Paddle and he will also talk about the broken raft by the beach. He offers his help in fixing the raft, but he will need your help to gather the necessary materials to fix it.

Step 2: Gather the materials

There will be several materials that you will need to gather:

  • x30 Hardwood – can be obtained from picking up the sticks around the trees in Forest of Valor or Glade of Trust, or from breaking tree stumps with an upgraded shovel
  • x7 Rope – can be obtained from crafting 8 pieces of Fiber per piece of Rope
  • x25 Clay – can be obtained from digging the muddy soil around the ponds in Glade of Trust
  • x10 Iron Ingot – can be crafted from 5 pieces of Iron Ore per ingot

For the crafted materials, you will need the following raw materials:

  • x12 Seaweed >>> x60 Fiber
  • x50 Iron Ore – can be mined in areas starting from the Forest of Valor

Step 3: Craft the Raft Repair Kit and use it on the raft

Head to a crafting station and craft the Raft Repair Kit under the Functional Items category. Head to the raft and use the Repair Kit on it. Goofy will then arrive to fix the raft and once it is done, you can use it to set sail to the island where Ariel is.

Step 5: Set sail and talk to Ariel

Use the raft to go to the island where you will meet Ariel. Talk to her and she will ask for your help to get out of the island and get back to the valley to look for Eric. She will also ask you to place her house near the beach.

At this point, Ariel will already come with you to the valley even before putting down her house. Simply talk to her once more to complete the quest. As for the house, locate a spot on the water where you want to place it, and then use Scrooge’s signboard to get it constructed for 5,000 coins.

Friendship with Ariel

After Ariel has settled in the village, you can then build your friendship with her through her quests. You can also assign her with any role from the five roles once you reach level 2 in friendship with her.

One of her friendship quests will lead to unlocking Eric who can then be invited to live in the village.
