After the successful launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans around the world can’t get enough out of the web-slingers as Peter Parker and Miles Morales have dominated the PlayStation world with their latest action-packed sequel. However, fans are wondering if there are any future updates for the game. Luckily, fans might get a chance to take control once more of one Spider-Man villain which they are excited about and that is Venom.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Venom Spin-Off Hinted at by Insomniac

In an interview with Insider, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 narrative director Jon Paquette was asked about the possibility that Venom might get his own spinoff game similar to that of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Paquette said that the company is waiting on feedback from fan reactions.

“So, here’s what we’re doing,” said Paquette, “We’re focused on Spider-Man 2, and what we’re gonna listen to the fans and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?'”

If you want more hints that Insomniac really loves the character, you need look to at Paquette’s statement earlier in the interview.

“I want this to be one of the best Venom stories you’ve ever experienced.”

Even though the game is yet to be confirmed, Insomniac is giving all they have to answer the prayers of all Spidey fans worldwide.

Why Should Venom Have Its Own Spin-Off?

Considering the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and the fact that Venom is a fan favorite to many Spidey gamers such as myself, it almost seems inevitable that a Venom spinoff will certainly be made sooner rather than later.

With his abilities and story origin revealed in the game, a standalone Venom game may yet introduce long-time Spider-Man nemesis, Eddie Brock, the original host of the Venom symbiote. As well as other Spider-Man-related allies and enemies. Not only that, it may even reveal hints of what the next Marvel-Insomniac game will be for the future.

“There’s such a rich universe there,” Paquette added, “and there’s a lot that the comics have done. We tried to take all that in, and then forget about it, and think about what would be best for our characters and our franchise.”

With the game currently out on sale, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players should be able to understand our black gooey alien we all know and love is all about.
