How to start the Ancient Power Unearthed side quest
To start the Ancient Power Unearthed side quest, you will have to progress through Chapter 1 up until you obtain Menolias’ bow and chakram, and then head back to The Haven. The light on the wall inside The Haven will have grown into a portal that leads to Kaheva’s Forge. Talk to Kaheva and you will be able to start the side quest.
Ancient Power Unearthed side quest Walkthrough
Make your way back to the Lower City as shown in the map.
Head down the path below and look for the gear that is behind a cage. Shoot your chakram through the cage and hit the gear to open the path to the floor below.
Make your way through the next few platforms that are activated by turning the gears with your chakram.
You will then end up at a room with the chest in the middle. However, opening this chest will trigger the room’s saw traps.
In order to pass the traps, you will have to jump and weave through all of them as they appear. Luckily, these traps appear in a certain pattern every time they are triggered. This is the order of saw traps that will appear in the room:
- Saw from right to left
- Two saws, upper right to left, lower left to right
- Two high saws right to left
- Three saws in succession left to right
- Rotating saw left to right
- Two saws from edge to middle to edge, plus a rotating saw from right to left
After clearing all of the traps, the chest will reappear, from which you can get the Raw Ore.
Bring the Raw Ore back to Kaheva to complete the quest. You will then be rewarded with the Shield of Mithra amulet which creates a small time bubble after performing a successful parry.
