After being successfully released in 2020, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was announced by Bandai Namco to be upgraded for the PS5. Since the 13th of January 2023, players can receive a free upgrade of the game from the PS4 to the PS5. The upgrade changes the gameplay to 60 FPS, bringing out some top-quality graphics and improving loading times. Not only that, but the Card Warriors minigame is also now available for offline solo play.

Aside from the free upgrade, Bandai Namco also announced a 4th DLC expansion pack to be released at the same time as the DLC mission: Bardock – Alone Against Fate. This is the 1st DLC mission to be released for Season 2, with promises of two more to come, which haven’t been announced as of yet. 

How to Do The PS5 Free Upgrade

To upgrade Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot from PS4 to the PS5 version is really simple; in fact, getting your hands on a PlayStation 5 is arguably the most difficult part.

To upgrade Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot from PS4 to PS5, follow the steps below:

1. Install the PS4 version of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on your PS5
2. Go to the PlayStation Store
3. Search for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
4. Click Order & Pay, don’t worry it will just show $0.00, then it will take you to the screen showing Purchase Complete
5. Click Download PS5 Version
