Shin Megami Tensei V World of Shadows Guide

The World of Shadows is a place in Shin Megami Tensei V that allows you to create powerful allies, purchase useful passive abilities, and transfer abilities. Here’s a guide to learning more about what it does.

Shin Megami Tensei V World of Shadows Guide

In Shin Megami Tensei there is a mysterious location called the World of Shadows that allows the players to request the services of this realm’s powerful owner, Sophia. If you’ve played Shin Megami III Nocturne, then this place is basically the Cathedral of Shadows.

Where To Find The World of Shadows

The World of Shadows in Shin Megami Tensei V can be found by accessing any leyline – a mysterious light, stemming up from the ground. You can find one early in the game of which you’ll be introduced to Sophia.

    World of Shadows Services

In the World of Shadows you’ll be able to fuse powerful demon allies thanks to Sophia’s aid and modify their abilities. You will also be able to purchase powerful passive abilities that aid you in combat.

    Fusion Shin Megami Tensei V

By fusing the demons that have joined your party, you’ll be able to acquire powerful new ones. This essentially merges two demons into one with the new demon inheriting some of the skills and abilities of the demons it came from.

Fusion costs money and will depend on what demons you fuse together. The more powerful the fusion, the more Macca it will cost. You also cannot acquire a demon who is of a higher level than your own.

Purchasing Miracles in Shin Megami Tensei V

Miracles are powerful passive abilities in Shin Megami Tensei V that are always active in combat. Unlike other services in the game, Miracles require a special type of currency known as Glory which you’ll get via exploration, interacting with Amalgams and Treasure Chests, finding any hiding Miman, or beating a special type of demon known as Nigi Mitama.

It’s in your best interest to take your time to explore and farm for as much Glory as you can. Miracles provide massively beneficial passive abilities that can range from restoring your party’s health and MP after increasing a level or help fill your Magatsuhi gauge after an ambush allowing you to use powerful demon skills as soon as possible.

Fusing Essence in Shin Megami Tensei V

Fusing Essence allows you to deeper customize your abilities. By passing on what skills, abilities, and affinities your party has to the protagonist or any of the demons in his party, you’ll be able to receive advantages that you might otherwise not have.
