Where Have You Been? is the first mission of The Flame side story in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Peter gets a call to help rescuers who have been trapped in a collapsing building, but he also meets up with a previous ally and stumbles upon a pyromaniac cult.

The Flame side story will become available once the Healing The World main story has been completed. Chief Clarke will give you a call and ask for help in stabilizing the building they are working on and rescuing the trapped civilians. The Where Have You Been? side mission will then appear in the central area of the Financial District. All missions under The Flame side story are exclusive only for Peter Parker.

After getting the phone call from Chief Clarke, make your way to the marker in the Financial District and talk to the rescuers outside the building.

The Flame: Where Have You Been? Side Mission Objectives:

    • Mark trapped people for the firefighters
    • Clear a path and mark people
    • Maneuver around the electricity
    • Follow the voices
    • Fight the intruders

Mark trapped people for the firefighters

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 The Flame: Where Have You Been Walkthrough - deploying Spider-Bot to do recon

For the first part of the mission, you’ll be deploying Spider-Bot to do recon inside the building and search for any trapped people. Go through the vents and you’ll find your first person to mark just inside the first room that you enter.

Follow the path until you reach a hole in the wall, then continue up the ramps until you arrive in the next room.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 The Flame: Where Have You Been Walkthrough - test your Pulse Blast

In this room, you’ll get to test your Pulse Blast on the ceiling that just blocked the path. Blast through the blockages along your path and you will encounter the next trapped person just up ahead. Pull the fallen shelf off the person, then mark them for rescue.

Proceed to the next path and blast through the blockages until you reach a door. Pull open the door to get to the next room where another trapped person is calling for help. Blast away the debris that’s trapping the person, then mark them for rescue.

Clear a path and mark people

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 The Flame: Where Have You Been Walkthrough - test the bot's Jump Jets

In this next area, you’ll get to test the bot’s Jump Jets which lets you climb up higher levels and platforms. Jump up the debris until you reach the top, then pull the remaining debris away to reveal the ceiling that you can blast through.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 The Flame: Where Have You Been Walkthrough - find the last trapped person

Continue up to the upper level and then jump over the medical equipment to find the last trapped person. Before you can help them, close the door where the sand is pouring out, then pull the person from the sand pile and mark them.

According to this person, there’s another person up ahead who needs help, although Chief Clarke doesn’t have them accounted for in his logs. Proceed to the next hallway, then open the door to the left and jump up the obstruction.

    Maneuver around the electricity

You’ll reach the server room where the floor has been electrified. Use your Jump Jet to jump from platform to platform and then make your way to the next open vent that leads to a ward.

    Follow the voices

You’ll hear voices of a couple of people arguing in the next room ahead. They sound like cultists who identify themselves as Followers of the Flame. Proceed to the next vent, and you’ll see them through the grates of the next room. Make your way to the end of the shaft, where you will see some cultists holding down a deserter.

    Fight the intruders

You’ll then get to enter into a combat and help the deserter make his escape. Fight through the waves of intruders until a cutscene plays, where the ceiling collapses further.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 The Flame: Where Have You Been Walkthrough - Continue fighting the cultists

Continue fighting the cultists until they’re all knocked out. Another cutscene will play, showing a masked person knocking out another cultist. You’ll soon recognize this person as Yuri, an ally to Peter from the previous game, who has now taken on the identity known as Wraith. She then leaves the building before it collapses, leaving Peter with the task of taking out the knocked-out cultists from the building.

After completing this leg of the mission, you will be rewarded with the following: 1,000 XP, 2 Hero Tokens, and 200 Tech Parts.
