Hogwarts Legacy Phoenix Location: how to catch & breeding info

As one of the rarest beasts in the game, the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy is notoriously difficult to find. The famous reincarnating bird is one of the beasts you can capture for the Vivarium and it’s the hardest one to get. If you’re up for the challenge of searching for the Phoenix location in Hogwarts Legacy, here’s how you can find it.

Where is the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?

The Hogwarts Legacy Phoenix cannot be located via free roam, and can only be captured through a quest. To find the Phoenix, you have to first complete The Helm of Urtkot questline from Deek and then get the Phoenix Rising quest which leads you to the Phoenix location which is the only way to find it.

You have to first proceed through the main story until you unlock the Room of Requirement. After your first Beasts class, you’ll get The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom quest from Deek which teaches you how to use the Nab-Sack to capture magical beasts. From then, continue through the main story until you get The Helm of Urtkot questline which unlocks the Phoenix Rising quest where you can capture the Phoenix.

Once you get the Phoenix Rising quest which is where you’ll be led to the Phoenix location, just follow the quest marker. This will lead you to the Southern portion of the map to Phoenix Mountain where you’ll battle a bunch of poachers inside a cave who are trying to get the Phoenix for themselves.

How do you get more Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?

You can’t have more than one Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy. The Phoenix is the only magical beast that cannot be bred because there is only one Phoenix in the game.

After capturing the Phoenix, you can then place it in the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement. Deek will thank you for your service and ask you to keep it. You now have a Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy but you cannot breed it. You can only breed any of the other 12 beasts in the game, as long as you’ve unlocked The Vivarium in the Room of Requirement.
