How to Unlock Summoner Archetype in Remnant 2

Remnant 2 How to Unlock Summoner Archetype Featured Image

Remnant 2 is a game that allows for many crazy builds, mostly revolving around the run-and-gun mechanics the series is known for. The game’s take on the Summoner Archetype is exactly what you would expect. But with explosive results.

Similar to the Handler Archetype, the Summoner has creatures that fight by their side. The biggest difference is that the Summoner can choose to SACRIFICE the creatures under their control. This opens up a host of tactical advantages that aren’t possible with a partner simply fighting by their side to the death.

How to Get the Summoner Archetype in Remnant 2

As a secret Archetype, the Summoner isn’t exactly trying to remain hidden from you. Only RNG will spoil a possible encounter with this class. On more than one occasion. Allow us to explain.

The Summoner Archetype can be found in an instance of Yaesha. In one of the forest areas to be exact. As a foreword, this is one of the easiest secret Archetypes to obtain if your luck holds out long enough.

The Material necessary to create the Archetype can be bought from a special vendor called the Bloodmoon Altar. This altar does not appear in every instance of Yaesha. Though if one is present, it will appear on the map as a blue tombstone-looking object.

The most common places it is likely to spawn are in the Faithless Thicket and the Forbidden Grove. It is possible that it can spawn in other places but we’ve not heard of any other places. If you fail to see it during your travels, simply load up a random instance in Adventure Mode and search the forest Overworlds until it is found.

Once accessed, the item you are looking for is called the Faded Grimoire Material. This is the item needed to unlock the Summoner.

  • Faded Grimoire Material
    • Blood Moon Essence (15)
    • Lumenite Crystal (5)
    • Scrap (1500)

You will notice that the material needs something called Blood Moon Essence. It is a currency exclusive to Yaesha. And it is a pain to acquire.

You will notice during your travels that the moon will sometimes turn red. This is a special event called the Blood Moon. During this event, flying wisps will wander around the forest Overworld. The event seems to only happen in the Faithless Thicket and the Forbidden Grove during certain times.

The wisps themselves don’t pose a threat. The surrounding monsters on the other hand will hinder your efforts to harvest the precious resource. Shooting one down will net you (one) Blood Moon Essence.

Important: Treat Blood Moon Essence is one of the rarest resources in the game. They are not easy to find, noted by the fact that they are time-locked. From our experience and the information we’ve gathered so far, it would seem like the resource is capped at around 20 or so per Yaesha instance. If you want to get more, you’ll have to reroll an Adventure Mode of Yaesha until you have everything you need.

Once you have bought the material, head back to Ward 13 and ask Wallace to craft you the Tome of the Bringer engram. This will grant you access to the Summoner archetype.
