Hugo’s Herbarium offers new flowers and feathers to collect in A Plague Tale Requiem. Finding all of them may be worthwhile, as doing so may slightly alter Hugo and Amicia’s look, giving them a touch specific to your game. You don’t wanna miss out on trophies as well. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly when and where each of Hugo’s herbarium can be found, from start to finish.
All Hugo’s Herbarium Locations
You can collect a total of 12 Hugo’s Herbarium (5 Flowers and 7 Feathers) in A Plague Tale Requiem. If you missed a collectible, don’t fret. As you go through the narrative, “Chapter Selection” becomes available in the Main Menu. This means you can replay chapters whenever you want to, and complete your collection. In addition, they are carried over to New Game+.
As such, below are the complete details on where and how to get each herbarium, so read on.
Note: There are no Collectibles in Chapters 1, 12, 14, 15, and 17.
Hugo’s Herbarium 1 – Arrowhead
- Chapter: 2 – Newcomers
- Section: 6 – Ignifer
- Objective: Reach the South Tower
After you exit the underground by riding the lift, head upstairs and continue along the straightforward path until you reach a vegetable garden.
Now, before going down the stairs, Lucas will stop and look at something in the middle of the garden, pick it up to obtain the Arrowhead for Hugo’s Collection.
Hugo’s Herbarium 2 – Chamomile
- Chapter: 3 – A Burden of Blood
- Section: 5 – At the edge of the city
- Objective: Reach the herbalist’s forest
Upon reaching the Herbalist’s house, head over the large tree to your left near the pond.
Look up and you should be able to see a bunch of flower pots hanging from the tree. Shoot down flower pot with a breakable chain using your sling to collect the Chamomile.
Hugo’s Herbarium 3 – Gentian
- Chapter: 4 – Protector’s Duty
- Section: 2 – Night Work
- Objective: Reach the order’s boat
Upon reaching the docks, head down and follow the path to your right until you reach the shoreline.
You’ll eventually find the Gentian flower perched on the ground at the end of the path.
Hugo’s Herbarium 4 – Anemone
- Chapter: 5 – In our Wake
- Section: 3 – Bridge under construction
- Objective: Find a way to reach the boat
Follow the main path ahead until you arrive at the bridge. Once there, walk around to the back and get into position as shown in the first image below, then throw a rock using your sling to unlatch a drawbridge.
Next, pull the pushcart in the direction shown in the second image, and then climb the ledges. Continue along the path until you reach the cliff’s edge, where you’ll see a pink flower cluster lying on the ground; inspect it to find the Anemone flower.
Hugo’s Herbarium 5 – Jay
- Chapter: 6 – Leaving all Behind
- Section: 1 – Towards the sea
- Objective: Find a way towards the coast
Continue along the main path at the beginning of the chapter, and you will soon arrive to a grassland with a tree in the center.
Race with Hugo to the tree, and he’ll eventually stumble and look at something that’s lying on the ground. Interact with him afterwards to obtain the Jay for Hugo’s Collection.
Hugo’s Herbarium 6 – Black Headed Gull
- Chapter: 7 – Felons
- Section: 1 – Arrival at the beach
- Objective: Cross the beach
You’ll get to the beach with Hugo and Arnaud not long after the chapter begins. Continue along the main path until you spot a small house to your left.
Go inside and jump through the window based on the 1st image above. You’ll find the Black Headed Gull feather in the far corner lying on the ground.
Hugo’s Herbarium 7 – Black Kite
- Chapter: 8 – A Sea of Promises
- Section: 1 – Celebration of the brighter days
- Objective: Look around for information about the island
Upon reaching the market in Red City, head over the area to your left where people are seated, listening to a woman.
From here, make your way to the back by taking the small path on the left and collect the Black Kite feather lying on the ground next to a tree.
Hugo’s Herbarium 8 – Barn Owl
- Chapter: 9 – Tales and Revelations
- Section: 4 – Entering the sanctuary
- Objective: Find a way around the checkpoint
Follow the main path and sneak past the guards until you reach a broken tower.
Head inside and climb to the highest floor, climb a ledge, then turn right. Follow the path ahead until you come to another ledge but don’t drop down yet, stop and look on the ground to your left and pick up the Barn Owl feather.
Hugo’s Herbarium 9 – Raven
- Chapter: 10 – Bloodline
- Section: 4 – The old temple
- Objective: Reach the fort
This can be found in Section 3 – Slavers, shortly after you sneak past the guards and exit through another area by swinging the chain and breaking the door.
Follow the main path until you come to a fork in the road; take the left path and descend to a cliff by the ocean. You’ll find the Raven’s feather lying on the ground near the edge of the cliff.
Hugo’s Herbarium 10 – European Goldfinch
- Chapter: 11 – The Cradle of Centuries
- Section: 4 – Byzantine technology
- Objective: Explore the underground area
You’ll find this collectible shortly after blasting the first door with an explosive barrel using you Ignifer slingshot.
Once inside the next room, head over to the far right corner and blast another explosive barrel. This will open a path for you to crawl into a small room. You’ll find the European Goldfinch feather lying on the ground in the middle.
Hugo’s Herbarium 11 – Greylag Goose
- Chapter: 13 – Nothing Left
- Section: 4 – Ruined village
- Objective: Reach the port
This can be found in Section 4 – Ruined Village, shortly after sneaking past the guards and into a house decorated with flowers.
In the area where you can see Arnaud about to be hanged, move the pushcart next to the doorway and climb over. You’ll eventually find the Greylag Goose feather lying on the floor near the ledge.
Hugo’s Herbarium 12 – Carnation
- Chapter: 16 – King Hugo
- Section: 1 – Marseille
- Objective: Find Hugo
You’ll find this collectible not too long after the chapter starts, just past a workbench and a chest.
Just keep going along the main path and Lucas will pause to examine the flower pot on the ground. Inspect it to add the Carnation flower to Hugo’s Herbarium.
Collecting all of Hugo’s Herbarium unlocks the following Trophies:
- Herbalist (Silver) – Find all flowers
- Ornithologist (Silver) – Find all feathers
