As Dusk Falls Crossroads are choices you have to make that give you separate outcomes. These choices will have serious consequences down the line so you’ll need to choose wisely. This guide will help you learn each consequence of each crossroad decision. Beware of spoilers, of course!

Chapter 1: Desert Dream Crossroad Choices

At the motel, Michelle sits down with her shoulders sore. As Vince agrees to give her massage, Jim comes into the room and request your time. He cites that Zeus needs to pee and he wants to talk to you.

Go With Jim or Stay With Michelle?

Go With Jim: Jim thanks you for taking him with you on the road trip. He reveals his tumor in his head and talks about his past with Vince. You’ll learn that he walked out of his marriage and he’s been absent on Vince’s life for 30 years all so he could be free to do drugs. He asks for Vince’s forgiveness. He asks to live with you.

A group of robbers arrive at the motel, and orders Vince to get on the ground. Tyler points a gun at Vince.

Follow Orders?

Do It: Vince kneels to the ground. Flashbacks to 30 minutes ago.

Jay finds the safe behind the bookcase. The code is no longer in his back pocket.

Input Code?

5926: Safe opens revealing it to be full of money.

Jay gets caught by the sheriff. He has Dale on his knees and calling for backup.

Fight Off Sherriff or Run To The Door?

Fight Off Sheriff: Jay grabs a candle stick and knock him out.

Tyler and Dale now have the tables turned on them. Joyce asks you to point the shotgun you grabbed at them.

Drop It or Point It?

Drop It: Jay enters the door and distracts Joyce. Tyler hits her upon the distraction and punches the clerk in the stomach. He then shoves you to the ground, otherwise unharmed.

Dale is angry and demands that Zeus shuts up. He’s throwing stuff your way.

Calm Dog or Calm Dale?

Calm Dale: Dale gets angry pointing a gun at you. Joyce provokes him further.

Joyce is provoking Dale. She’s getting closer to him.

Ask Joyce To Back Off or Quiet Zeus?

Ask Joyce to Back Off: Joyce tells you she isn’t afraid of him. You have the option to remind her that she has a son.

Tyler comes back and sees that Vince’s van has luggage. He demands Vince tell him the truth.

My Family or Just My Dad?

My Family: Tyler tells Dale to check the rooms. He tells Vince that he doesn’t like him for selling out his family.

Vince sees the locket of Joyce on the ground from the time Dale punched her. He can leave it there for the cop to find or hide it.

Leave Evidence or Hide Evidence?

Leave Evidence: The cop finds it on the ground. Paul then talks to the cop saying she was looking for the locket. Cop figures out what’s happening. Whispers to Vince that he’s going to radio for backup once he’s outside.

Hide Evidence: Vince kicks the locket under the table. The cop leaves without finding it. However the police still arrives in the proceeding chapter.

Tyler grabs Michelle as hostage and threatens to kill her. He tells Vince to ensure no cops are following them and they’ll leave her at a payphone if they’re not followed.

Beg, Attack Tyler, Grab His Gun?

Beg: Vince begs to him as hostage instead. However nothing progresses, you have to choose the two below.

Grab His Gun: With a quick QTE, you quickly grab the gun and point it at Tyler. He compliments you about not being afraid anymore.

Vince has Tyler in the crosshairs of his own shotgun. What happens next is a difficult choice.

Surrender or Shoot Tyler?

Surrender: Tyler takes back the gun. And points it at Vince, telling him he couldn’t get away with it. He pulls the trigger. Turns out the gun is empty.

Chapter 2: Economics 101 Crossroad Choices

After calling being placed in the backrooms, Vince and Michelle are duck tapped together. Vince has to reach the phone to get to Dante.

Pass or Fail QTE?

Pass QTE: Vince reaches Sheriff Dante. You have the option to tell Dante what’s going on which will change Tyler’s reaction.

Vince successfully rescues his family and Joyce. The cops make their way inside the motel. You have a chance of escape.

Run For It or Stay Hidden?

Stay Hidden: Jim makes a run for it, leaving his family behind despite protests. He gets knocked out.

In a flashback, Vince confronts Michelle about a potential extramarital affair. He’s suspicious. Michelle is trying hard to avoid the topic.

Okay, I’m Sorry or No, There’s More To This?

No, There’s More To This: Michelle breaks down and confesses her affair. She asks for forgiveness. You have the option to forgive her or not which will affect the marriage.

Sheriff Dante is making an exchange for one hostage. You have to choose to send Jim or Zoe.

Send Zoe or Send Jim?

Send Jim: Vince escorts Jim out the premises. Jim confesses that there’s no tumor. He made it all up. You have an option to give him a chance.

Joyce and Paul are asking for pizzas. Dale says no and is angry. You can try to butter him up or demand pizza.

Demand Pizza or Show Respect?

Show Respect: If you play your cards right, Dale lets you have one of the pizza boxes. And you’ll get the chance to rummage through their stuff. He also apologizes for hitting Jim too hard.

Dale takes Vince outside the front to talk to Sheriff Dante. Vince notices that there’s a sniper pointed at his head by the water tower.

Warn Dale or Don’t?

Warn Dale: Vince pushes Dale out of the way. Both make a run back into the motel. There will be QTEs. Dale will defend you later when Tyler confronts you.

Chapter 3: Small Seconds Crossroad Choices

Sharon comes into the Motel. She makes a deal with Vince that she’ll take care of his family of he cooperates with her boys.

Don’t Warn Her or Warn About Pager?

Warn About Pager: Tyler gets angry but Sharon tells him to stand down. Sharon asks why Vince told her this. This will cause Dante to attack Vince later on.

In a flashback, a strange man comes as Jay is having a drink. He talks about his father’s gambling debts. And offers that the watch Jay has will give them time to repay his father’s debts.

Keep Watch or Give Watch?

Give Watch: Bear comes in and attacks the man, but the stranger gets to keep the watch. Bear gets angry at Jay. Later in the game, Bear kills the stranger for this and asks for Jay’s help in hiding the body.

Vince sits down with Michelle and talks about the gag order from the airline. He’s decided what to do.

Sue the Airline or Take the Money?

Sue the Airline: Michelle compliments Vince about his decision. Not about him suing, but about being able to fight for himself again. She asks if their marriage is going to survive. This option will pay off later in Chapter 6 with Vince getting a plane of his own and teaching flight school.

In a flashback, Bear takes Jay into the forest. The real reason is to help him bury a body. Turns out the Stranger is still alive.

Obey, Refuse, Plead?

Refuse: Bear and Jay get into a struggle. The Stranger seizes his chance to run away. The Stranger will remember the fact that Jay helped him.

In a flashback, Jay runs Bear as the man is trying to kill himself. He has the option to stop him.

Just Leave or Cut Him Down?

Cut Him Down: Jay cuts down the rope, but Bear seriously injured. Jay will remember this later when Vince is aiming a gun at Sharon and Tyler. He will opt to shoot non-lethally.

Vince has a gun raised on Sharon and Tyler. They have Zoe captured.

Lower It or Keep It Raised?

Keep It Raised: Vince resists and gets a couple more chances to put down the gun. He can refuse to listen. Depending on what you made Jay choose earlier when Bear was hanging, is the outcome.

Chapter 4: Shima Crossroad Choices

Zoe wants to leave the car. Jay gets the option to choose to let her go.

Unlock the Door or She’s Safer Here?

Unlock the Door: Jay lets the girl escape. Zoe makes a run for it. This is actually the good choice as the car crashes later on. Zoe will be found and picked up by the police.

Ash is in the forest. It’s night time and he’s hungry. The choices here depend on whether you eat the candy. A boar will come out of the woods later.

Act Scary, Talk Calmly, Run, Throw Candy?

Throw Candy: Ash throws the candy to the floor. The wild boar eats it, giving Ash enough time to run.

Jay in inside the Vanessa’s house. Her dad comes home and he has a chance to sneak out. Or say goodbye.

Sneak Out or Say Goodbye?

Say Goodbye: Jay says goodbye to Vanessa. Vanessa asks if Jay wants to study with her again over coffee.

In a flashback, Ash hears Bear coming inside the house. He can hide in the closet or under the bed.

Hide In Closet or Hide Under Bed?

Hide In Closet: Ash gets caught by Bear. He has to talk his way out. Ash later runs but falls into a pit.

Sheriff Dante finds Ash on the road. He asks Ash what happened to him.

Keep Cabin Secret or Reveal Cabin?

Keep Cabin Secret: Ash doesn’t tell Dante anything about the cabin. He takes Ash back into his police car and to his mom.

Tyler is chasing Jay through the woods. Jay climbs up a tree to save himself and Tyler slips in pursuit.

Stomp Fingers or Save Tyler?

Save Tyler: Jay pulls Tyler up. They make up and Tyler asks where Jay is planning to go.

Chapter 5: Paradise Found Crossroad Choices

Sharon is sneaking up on Dante. She has picked up a pair of scissors and intends to stab him.

Warn Dante or Don’t Warn?

Warn Dante: Dante fights off Sharon successfully but she disarms his gun.

Don’t Warn: The gun is on the floor. Dante asks you to give him the gun and Sharon tells you that he’s lying.

Help Sharon or Help Dante?

Help Sharon: Paul picks up the coffee maker and hits Dante in the head. Sharon gets him to grab the car keys and make a run for it. They later live lavish lifestyles in the epilogue of the game.

Jay walks into Todd’s party. He’s being offered ecstasy. Vanessa already takes one.

Take Pill or Refuse?

Refuse: Jay refuses to take the pill. The girl who offered him the drugs scowls and walks away.

Jay finds Vanessa inside Todd’s room. She’s drugged and Todd seems to be taking advantage of her. Vanessa might not be in any position to think for herself.

Hit Him or Leave Them?

Hit Him: Jay gets into a QTE scuffle with Todd. Vanessa gets angry at him for this later.

In a fight with Todd, Jay can picks up a bottle. Todd is hysterical.

Leave Him or Bottle Him?

Leave Him: Jay drops the bottle. Hitting Todd wasn’t worth it even as he taunts him.

Jay and Vanessa are resting by the cliff in the forest. Vanessa asks him if he’s telling the truth.

Don’t Risk It or Come Clean?

Come Clean: Jay tells Vanessa everything. She doesn’t react with that much surprise.

Jay tells Vanessa the truth. He can ask her to stay with him or leave.

I Want You Here or It’s Best If You Go?

I Want You Here: Vanessa will demand to give her a reason to stay. Jay tells her about how surprised he was when she showed up at the motel. Vanessa will confess that she wants to go to Canada as well.

After Jay asks Vanessa to stay with him, she makes him promise never to hurt anyone like he did with Todd.

Make The Promise or Let Her Leave?

Make The Promise: Jay swears he won’t be violent. Vanessa forgives him and chooses to stay.

Chapter 6: Cascade Crossroad Choices

Jay and (possibly Vanessa) are stuck in the road being inspected by a cop. Jay doesn’t have a driver’s license and the cop waits tries to confirm the license plates.

Peel Out or Wait For Cop?

Wait For Cop: The cop lets off Jay with a warning. The police database is down. Jay and (possibly Vanessa) go past the checkpoint peacefully. Though the cop still tips off the FBI later.

If Vanessa came with Jay, both will have to jump to get across the border. But Vanessa’s father pleads with her not to.

Jump Without Her or Jump Together?

Jump Without Her: Jay pleads with Vanessa to stay with her dad. He makes the jump and actually escapes to Canada. Vanessa winds up in juvenile hall but becomes a lawyer.

Jump Together: Jay jumps with Vanessa. They spend years with each other. But Vanessa eventually leaves him to go back to America.

An older Zoe confronts Jay in Canada. They talk about the events of the game. Players have the opportunity to find out about what happened to the other characters.

Your Family Ruined My Life or I Don’t Hate You?

Your Family Ruined My Life: Zoe rages at Jay. Jay apologizes still and offers to be arrested.

I Don’t Hate You: Zoe tells Jay that she doesn’t hate him, and confesses she’s afraid. Depending on Jay’s actions back at the motel, she’ll remember Jay fondly.

After forgiving Jay, he asks Zoe if he’s broken.

No You’re Not or Who Isn’t?

No You’re Not: Zoe assures Jay that he’s still a good person regardless of what happened at the motel. Jay offers Zoe dinner.

If Zoe doesn’t says the Holt family ruined her life, Jay tells her there’s a signal booster at the top of the house. She can turn him in or let it go.

Turn Him In or Forgive Him?

Turn Him In: Zoe calls the police and Jay is arrested in Canada.

Forgive Him: Zoe tells Jay that it wasn’t his fault what happened at the motel. Jay hugs her. However Zoe asks that Jay stops sending her letters.
