We’re all excited to see what the next expansion has in store and there’s been a slew of Destiny 2 Lightfall leaks going around. We’ve taken the liberty to gather all the leaks giving out new information about the Lightfall expansion of Destiny 2. Take them with a grain of salt though as it’s not verified that all of these leaks are true.
So what are the leaks saying about the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion? More importantly, can we trust these leaks? Beware of possible spoilers in this article.
Destiny 2 Lightfall Leaks
There are a few interesting leaks regarding the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion that have been going around. The underground culture of the leaks shared in the Destiny community is an interesting one where there’s usually more fiction than facts surrounding leaks, but some have hit the nail on the head. Even though we aren’t so sure that these leaks are true, they’re at least worth pondering.
Just get your Destiny 2 Lightfall bingo out and see if any of these leaks come true on February 28, 2023 when the expansion comes out. Here are the Destiny 2 Lightfall leaks that dataminers have shared online that caught our attention:
Opening Cutscene Datamined
Dataminers were able to extract the opening cutscene for Destiny 2 Lightfall. It shows the beginning of The Witness’ attack at the start of the expansion. There aren’t too many details spoiled by the opening cutscene as we’ve already seen details of it on the launch trailer.
Amanda Holiday Fake Death
It seems that Lightfall aims to start by scaring us out. Amanda Holiday, the human shipwright responsible for repairing our Guardian’s ships, will “die” during the Black Fleet invasion. This happens during the Destiny 2 Lightfall trailer where the pyramids invade.
This is however just a scare as Amanda turns out to be alive later. We don’t know how long she’ll be gone or if anyone’s replacing her in The Tower. From the datamined opening cutscene of Lightfall above, it seems that this is true.
Cayde-6 Is Coming Back
When Cayde-6 died, he brought along the biggest revelation that our Guardian could actually talk, at least before the New Light prologue was added for new players. Now there’s a leak online saying that he’s coming back…but not in a way that we’ll be expecting.
Now this might actually happen, though we doubt that Bungie will cheapen Cayde-6’s death via some plot twist about how he survived all along. Though it may be believable if he came back as an illusion or a voice talking to our Guardian.
Titan Coming Back as Open World
From the early days of Destiny 2, players could freely roam Titan until the Beyond Light expansion. It seems that it’s making a return for the upcoming Lightfall expansion during its first season, Season of the Deep. This is according to a reputable dataminer by the name of Liz who shared this info on Twitter and Discord.
Though Liz did give a disclaimer that the information isn’t 100% certain. So those eager to explore Titan and see the giant sea monster might have to keep their fingers crossed. At least until more information is shared about the subject.
Other Destiny 2 Lightfall Leaks
There are some other Destiny 2 Lightfall leaks that may come true. Though they’re not as interesting or story related as the above.
- TFS 3-phase Raid
- 3 Strike matches in Neomuna
Those are the interesting Destiny 2 Lightfall leaks we could scrounge up online. We can’t guarantee any of them will come true, but they’re interesting and plausible enough to mention.
