Monster Movie Night is the first friendship quest for Sulley in Disney Dreamlight Valley. There’s a project that Sulley is hoping to recreate, in which they would pick and watch monster movies together while sharing some comfort food and a dash of nostalgia. How to Start Monster Movie Night in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You can unlock the Monster Movie Night quest once you reach friendship level 2 with Sulley and progress further with Merlin and Mike Wazowski. Mike doesn’t need to be leveled up first; he’ll be unlocked alongside Sulley and will still count toward the requirement even if he’s still at level 1, so you can prioritize Merlin instead. Once you’ve met all the quest requirements, talk to Sulley to initiate a dialogue and start the quest.
If you haven’t moved Mike and Sulley into the valley yet, then you must unlock the Monster’s, Inc. Realm in the Dream Castle for 15,000 Dreamlights and progress through a series of quests called Escape Claws and Eye on the Prize.
How to Complete Monster Movie Night in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Your first task is to locate a videotape for the movie night. Sulley mentions that Scrooge McDuck’s store no longer carries VHS tapes, leading you to investigate. Speak to Scrooge, who’ll hint that the tape might be with Ursula, Goofy, or Mickey. Track down Mickey directly and he will reveal that he lost the tape in a dark spot on Dazzle Beach.
Videotape Location
The videotape can be found within the Mystical Cave in Dazzle Beach. Once inside, head down to the deepest floor, and you’ll find the videotape buried on the ground next to a glowing tombstone. Using your Royal Shovel, dig up the videotape and give it to Sulley.
How to Craft a Big Scream TV
With the movie secured, attention turns to crafting the Big Scream TV. Gather the following materials:
- 50 Fiber: Crafted from Seaweed, which is obtainable by fishing in open waters.
- 10 Glass: Crafted from Sand and Coal Ore, or purchase at Kristoff’s stall if available.
- 20 Softwood: can be found in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust, specifically near trees. Can also be obtained in Kristoff’s Stall and by digging tree stumps.
After collecting these items, use any Crafting Station to make the Big Scream TV under the Functional Items tab. Once done, deliver it to Sulley, who will then tell you to go ask Mike for help to get the Snacks ready.
How to Change into your Monster Movie Night Outfit
To set the mood, Sulley requests you don a Monster Movie Night outfit, which includes:
- Blue Casual Top
- Blue Casual Pants
- “Scarer Sulley” Slippers
Choose “Blue” and “Casual” from the wardrobe’s filters for the top and pants, or select the Sulley quest icons under “Requests” to bring up the Sulley quest-appropriate clothing. Meanwhile, the Scare Sulley Slippers can be bought from Scrooge’s store for 10,000 star coins if you don’t have them yet.
How to Set Up the Big Scream TV
In your Monster Movie Night Outfit, place the Big Scream TV anywhere you like around the valley. Open the Furniture Tab and select the Sulley Quest icon to easily find the Big Scream TV.
Successfully placing it will be followed by a group photo to commemorate the revival of Monster Movie Night. This completes the Monster Movie Night Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, with Sulley rewarding you with the Big Scream TV as a furniture item.
