Disney Dreamlight Valley Scrooge McDuck Guide
You’ll encounter Scrooge McDuck shortly after Merlin tasks you to finding the Royal Tools. He’s just near the Dreamlight Fountain in front of a closed shop surrounded by Night Thorns. You won’t be able to talk to Scrooge until you clear at least one Night Thorn out of the way.
After talking with Scrooge McDuck, you’ll learn that the Forgetting has caused him to lose his business. He needs to get his shop open again so he can provide his services for a price. Scrooge will ask you to do a number of quests for him in order to get his shop up and running again.
Scrooge McDuck is one of the most greedy money-loving Disney characters and he’s had hands in almost every important business in the Valley. Once you help him back on his feet, Scrooge will be able to upgrade your home, construct buildings, and sell you furniture, décor, and outfits for a price. For this reason, he’s very important to your progress in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
To gain access to Scrooge McDuck’s services, you first need to help him repair his shop. This should be simple enough to do so.
How to Repair Scrooge McDuck’s Shop?
You need to spend 1,000 Star Coins to repair Scrooge McDuck’s shop. You’ll first need to help Goofy repair his stall first before you’re given the option to do this.
Step 1: Find Goofy
After speaking with Scrooge McDuck in Disney Dreamlight Valley, he’ll send you to find Goofy. Goofy is just down the stairs in the house before the beach. You’ll have to collect the Royal Pickaxe Tool first before you can break the rocks blocking the path. You can find the Pickaxe Tool just beside the shop Scrooge McDuck was in.
If you’re having trouble finding Goofy, you can open your map and see where he’s located. Pin his character icon and a trail of crumbs will lead you to his location. You’ll find him in a house blocked by a Night Thorn you’ll have to clear out before going in.
Step 2: Help Goofy Out
Once you meet Goofy, he’ll give you the Royal Fishing Pole Tool and ask for your help. You’ll have to catch one fish outside by the ponds and then repair Goofy’s stall. Repairing Goofy’s stall is on the house, however Scrooge will charge for subsequent repairs in the future.
Now that you’ve repaired Goofy’s stall, talk to Scrooge and then meet him outside of his shop. He’ll ask you for 1,000 Star Coins in order to bring him back to business. While it sounds like a lot, it’s actually really easy to earn Star Coins in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
You can earn Star Coins just by getting rid of the Night Thorns infesting the Valley. However it’s much faster to just catch fish and sell them at Goofy’s stall. Different types of fish sell at different prices.
- Bream: Sells for 600 Star Coins.
- Rainbow Trout: Sells for 50 Star Coins.
- Bass: Sells for 25 Star Coins.
Step 3: Give Scrooge McDuck 1,000 Star Coins
Once you’ve collected enough Star Coins, interact with the Scrooge McDuck unlock symbol on the side. This will repair Scrooge McDuck’s shop in an instant. Talk to him again and Scrooge will reward you with 400 Star Coins and invite you inside.
Congratulations, you’ve repaired Scrooge’s shop! Once you enter the premises, you’ll get a quest to purchase an item from Scrooge’s store. With the Star Coins he gave you, you should be able something in the shop.
How Does Scrooge McDuck’s Shop Work in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Scrooge McDuck’s shop constantly rotates its items on sale per day. This means that his stock will always change everyday. His store displays the items on sale in front of the counter so you’ll have to look around to see what’s on offer. You can also speak with Scrooge and ask to order some items to see stock from behind the counter.
Since Disney Dreamlight Valley syncs your game time with the real time, you’ll have to wait tomorrow for the next rotation of items in Scrooge McDuck’s store. You can try to fast forward time by tweaking the time settings on your device if you want Scrooge to get new items for his store immediately.
Behind the counter next to the stairs on the right, there’s a crafting station where you can refine materials, create functional items, mix potions & enhancements, make furniture, and create fences & paving. Also be sure to look behind the left staircase on your first visit, there are two free clothing bags which give you extra cosmetic items.
You can invest in Scrooge McDuck’s shop in order to widen its stock. Though it can be pricey to do so. The first investment to improve it alone cost 10,000 Star Coins.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Scrooge McDuck Friendship Level Unlocks
After helping Scrooge McDuck repair his shop, you’ll be able to increase your friendship with him by offering him gifts. Doing this will reward you with unlocks that you can use for yourself. Here are all the unlocks you get from Scrooge McDuck by raising his friendship level:
- Friendship Level 1: Unlocks Furniture Shop and Construction.
- Friendship Level 2: Unlocks the Record Player Decoration.
- Friendship Level 3: Unlocks an Outfit Overlay.
- Friendship Level 4: Unlocks 500 Star Coins.
- Friendship Level 5: Unlocks Scrooge Wardrobe Decoration.
- Friendship Level 6: Unlocks Bathing in Coin Outfit Overlay.
- Friendship Level 7: Unlocks 1,000 Star Coins.
- Friendship Level 8: Unlocks Scrooge McDuck Top Hat.
