The Extortionist is one of the tasks that players can do and complete Escape from Tarkov. This task is given by the Skier and is a simple retrieval mission of a valuable item from the Customs map. The catch: the messenger who hid the valuable item did not tell Skier where it was stashed and locked away and that person, who still has the key, has not reported back ever since.
In this guide, we will talk about how to complete The Extortionist task and show the locations of where the key items of this task can be found.
How to Unlock The Extortionist Skier Task in Escape from Tarkov
To unlock The Extortionist quest in Escape from Tarkov, you must have completed the Supplier task from Skier and you must also be at level 7.
How to Complete The Extortionist Skier Task in Escape from Tarkov
To complete The Extortionist task, you must obtain an Unknown Key from the body of the messenger which is somewhere within the Customs map. You will then have to find the locked shipping container that contains the Valuable Cargo and use the key to open it. You will then have to bring the Valuable Cargo back to the extraction zone and hand it over to Skier.
Obtain the Unknown Key
The Unknown Key can be looted from the messengers body which can be found underneath some bushes behind the garages located northeast of Warehouse 17.
Alternatively, you can purchase the Unknown Key from the Flea Market before heading to the Customs map and skip this step of finding the key.
Keep in mind that since you will be heading into a Customs raid, it is possible that other players in the same raid would have already gotten the key before you. But regardless of whether or not any of the players that joined the raid has The Extortionist task, a single Unknown Key will always spawn in every raid.
Locate the Shipping Container where the Valuable Cargo is hidden
The shipping container is located at the Shipping Yard, west to where the messenger’s body is at. Make your way to the Shipping Yard and locate Warehouse 4. Outside Warehouse 4 on its east side is the shipping container in between a forklift and a generator.
Be careful as there can be enemies and snipers that patrol the area; the door leading to the container is facing to the side where you will be visible to the enemies.
Once you open the door to the container, inspect the jacket on the floor and you will obtain the Valuable Cargo (Secure Folder 0048).
Bring the Valuable Cargo back to Extraction
Head towards an extraction point once you secure the cargo. At this point, you want to make sure that you don’t die, or else you will love the cargo and you’ll have to pick it back up again in the shipping container. As for the key, it will remain in your possession.
Hand over the Valuable Cargo to Skier
Report back to Skier and hand over the cargo to complete the task.
