Genshin Impact is returning with a chill on this latest update. Developers miHoYo have given us ample content to once again dive into their free-to-play open world RPG. If you’ve been looking forward for all the new events that will be coming in Version 2.3, then this article will list every event in the latest update.
Genshin Impact 2.3 Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Guide
Once 2.3 goes online, you’ll be able to partake in Shadows Amidst Snowstorms on the first phase of the update from November 24, 2021 until December 13, 2021.
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Objectives
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms has you return to Dragonspine with Eula, Albedo, and Amber in order to train their bodies in the harsh weather. This event is a continuation of The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event.
The event will primarily center around Albedo though Amber, Eula, and Bennett will also be joining him. Completing its challenges rewards you with the Cinnabar Spindle, a four-star sword best suited to Albedo.
How to Unlock Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event
In order to unlock Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, you need to be at least Adventurer Rank 20 and have completed Prologue: Act 2. Since the event primarily centers around Albedo, you need to finish his story quest first along with “Lost in Snow” before you can tackle the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event.
Here are all the requirements to unlock this event:
- Must be Adventurer Rank 20 or above
- Must have completed Prologue: Act 2
- Must have finished Albedo’s Story Quest
- Must have finished Lost in the Snow Quest
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event Location
Since the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event will take place in cold mountains of Dragonspine, we recommend you bring a team of Pyro characters, like Diluc and Amber.
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms: All Acts and Release Date
The Shadows Amidst Snowstorms will have three acts in total. Each will be rolled out as the month progresses.
- Act 1: The Snowy Past – November 15
- Act 2: The Shadows Deepen – December 1
- Act 3: A Secret Born From Ashes – December 4
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Challenges
There are three main things you can do in Shadows Amidst Snowstorms. Completing them will reward you with event currency that you can exchange for rewards.
Agility Training Guide
This is a time trial challenge. You’ll be racing against a timer as you complete the course as fast as you can while collecting Insignias of Conquest and Insignias of Adventure scattered throughout the course.
- Insignias of Conquest – these Insignias will only appear on certain times and are rarer than Insignias of Adventure
- Insignias of Adventure – can be found hidden along the course you’re racing
We recommend bringing along characters who can increase your character’s overall stamina in terms of dashing and gliding through the air.
Along the course, you’ll be able to pick up two kinds of Blessings which can help make the race against time easier. Galespring Blessings give you a boost in jump and Ironskin Blessings destroy nearby ice obstacles clearing your path.
Tracker Training Guide
In combat training, Pyro characters like Amber are an absolute requirement. You’ll be tasked to locate Ice Crystal Piles scattered throughout the area and melt them. You can’t do that with any character unless they have Pyro elemental attacks.
Melting Ice Crystal Piles will also produce Snowman Components which can be used to build Snowmen.
Combat Training Guide
You’ll be racing to defeat all opponents in a certain time limit. You’ll also be fighting against Sheer Cold accumulation during the fight.
You can activate a mechanism in the area that will buff enemies and speed up the accumulation for Sheer Cold, but once you activate three devices nearby the mechanism will turn into a heat source that will boost your energy recharge rate and deal area-of-effect Pyro damage to enemies.
You can collect Snowman Components via the enemies you defeat in the Combat Training.
Build Your Own Snowman
With the Snowman Components you’ve accumulated, you can build a snowman which you can then customize. This does fit in with the holiday spirit but there are rewards for building a snowman.

- Cinnabar Spindle 4-Star Sword
- Cinnabar Spindle Refinement Materials
You can exchange Snowman Component with friends if you’re missing a few.
Shadows Amidst Snowstorms: Event Shop Rewards
The event shop will run from November 25 till December 1, 2021. Players can purchase the Alkahest refining material using event currencies which is needed to ascent the Cinnabar Spine. However it also offers additional materials which you can also claim.

The Possible Sequel to Chalk Prince and the Dragon Event?
Last year on December 20, 2020 the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event started for Genshin Impact which also centered around Albedo. Though we have no confirmation, it may be possible that this is a sequel to that event as it also takes place in the snowy mountains of Dragonspine.
