Cryptic Vessels are one of the collectibles in Lies of P. These vessels contain clues that lead to certain areas where valuable items such as costumes and upgrade materials can be found.
Read ahead as we share how to get the different Cryptic Vessels and how to solve them in Lies of P.
All Cryptic Vessel Locations and Solutions in Lies of P
There are a total of 6 Cryptic Vessels that can be obtained in the game:
- Crafted Cryptic Vessel
- Jeweled Cryptic Vessel
- Old Cryptic Vessel
- Rusty Cryptic Vessel
- Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel
- Mechanical Cryptic Vessel
Once all of the Cryptic Vessels have been deciphered and all the rewards from them have been claimed, you will unlock the Veteran Explorer Achievement.
Crafted Cryptic Vessel Location and Solution
The Crafted Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 4. Start at the St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel Stargazer, then make your way up to the wooden beams and platforms until you reach a brazier. Push the brazier off the platform and it will burn the acid pool below, revealing a room. Go inside the room and you will find the vessel in a chest.
Bring the vessel to Venigni to get a clue from the inside showing the hanged puppet at the Alchemist Bridge. Travel to the Krat City Hall Stargazer and then make your way back to the bridge. Lock on to the puppet and use a throwable at it to make it drop the next clue.
Next, travel to the Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer, then leave the room to reach the path up ahead. Immediately to your right is the door on the clue. Inside is a safe where you can get the Owl Doctor’s Hunting Apparel Outfit and a Quartz.
Jeweled Cryptic Vessel
The Jeweled Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 6. Travel to the Estella Opera House Entrance Stargazer, then make your way to the top floor of the opera house, into the hallway at the back of the house. At the end of the hallway is a room with an open hatch and two ladders. Climb the ladder on the side of the entryway to find the chest containing the vessel.
Bring the vessel back to Venigni to get the clue. Then, travel back to the Ceresani Alley Stargazer, and trace your steps back to the side path where you first saw a broadcasting telephone and an elite enemy. Take a right turn upon reaching the path to reach a cliff with a view of the hotel.
Look for a barrel by the edge of the cliff and use the Check Ground gesture on the nearby pile of rubble to get The Atoned’s Hunting Apparel and a Legion Caliber.
Old Cryptic Vessel
The Old Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 8. Travel to the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer where you can talk to Rookie Explorer Hugo. Choose the “About the discovered treasure” option and he will eventually give you the vessel.
Bring the vessel back to Venigni to get the clue. Then, travel to the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, and ride the elevator down inside the shack. Go past the area where the high elite enemy ambushed and go to the ramp that leads to a burning barrel. You will then meet a slum resident who will give you a Robbers’ Shack Key. Use the key at the door nearby. As you walk towards the chest, you will most likely fall into a trap down the basement below. Defeat the enemies and make your way back up into the shack to get the chest that contains the Life Amulet +1 and a Legion Caliber.
Rusty Cryptic Vessel
The Rusty Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 9. Travel to the Collapsed Krat Stargazer and make your way through the rooftops to reach a chest that contains the Special Krat Supply Box. Take this box back to Polendina to get more items in the shop, including the vessel itself for 1,000 Ergo.
Hand the vessel to Venigni to get a clue. Then, travel back to the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer and the gate where you first met Hugo should now be unlocked. Make your way to the very end of the cave, past the shielder enemy, to find a safe that contains the Black Cat’s Hunting Apparel and a Quartz.
Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel
The Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 10. After defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood, talk to Alidoro by the campfire at the Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field Stargazer. You will have to attack and kill Alidoro in order to obtain the vessel.
To solve the Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel, you simply need to have it decrypted by Venigni and you will get a clue that tells more about the relationship between Alidoro and Eugénie. Depending on which dialogue option that you choose when talking to Eugénie, you will get one of the two records that you can collect: Far East Princess and Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1.
Mechanical Cryptic Vessel
The Mechanical Cryptic Vessel can be obtained in Chapter 11. Travel to the Arche Abbey Broken Rift Stargazer. From the Stargazer, proceed towards the path ahead, then turn right to go down the stairs. Go straight through the chamber to the next hallway, then turn right again and you will find a ladder. Climb up the ladder and go to the path on the right. Past the third brazier, turn left and you will find the chest that contains the vessel.
Take the vessel to Venigni to get a clue. You can only solve this clue if you have already obtained the Frozen Feast weapon from Alidoro (if not dead yet) or Hugo using champion Victor’s Ergo. Bring the weapon with you to the Abandoned Apartment. Make it outside of the apartment, then make your way through the ruins until you see a rock that you can walk on to cross the chasm. Turn right, then left to the next arch, then take the stairs up and you will find the Wandering Merchant to the right.
Equip the Frozen Feast and show it to the merchant. He will then give the Red Fox’s Hunting Apparel and a Quartz.
