Remnant 2: How to get Sparkfire Shotgun (Awakened King DLC)

How to Get Sparkfire Shotgun Remnant 2 Guide Featured Image

There’s nothing quite like the sight of Dragon’s Breath as it scorches targets to ash. This is what the Sparkfire Shotgun brings to the table should you take the time to carefully study the keys you pick up before using them up for the obvious task that they were meant to be used. What Archetype would be complete without their signature ranged weapon in hand?

In this guide, I’ll tell you how you can get the Ritualist’s primary ranged weapon, the Sparkfire Shotgun, as well as some ideas on how to build around it. I’ll also tell you what you can acquire after unlocking the back door of the lighthouse.

How to Get Sparkfire Shotgun in Remnant 2?

The Sparkfire Shotgun can be found in the Derelict Lighthouse dungeon that’s part of the Awakened King DLC. The location itself is known for three areas of interest: a mysterious manor, an abandoned factory, and the always vigilant lighthouse at the end of the dungeon.

For all intents and purposes, you can ignore the manor. But if you encounter the trapped Dran, you may want to know how to escape the Ethereal Manor and get the amulet hidden within.

When you reach the dock area, you might be tempted to go straight to the lighthouse. Personally, I was really drawn towards it. I guess it gave off Bioshock or something. But whatever the case, avoid going to the lighthouse for now. There’s nothing there to pick up at the moment.

Instead, you’ll want to take a left and head towards this seaside factory. (As pictured above.) This is where you’ll get the key that you can use to open two doors in the lighthouse.

The place is guarded by two Aberrations, the Thunderpiercer and the Gorecarver. As you can guess, one specializes in SHOCK damage and the other one makes you BLEED a lot. Fortunately for us, the duo don’t have much health between them. Though they will both attack the moment one of them spots you. Do your best to separate the two and you’ll be just fine.

Defeating the Aberrations will grant you the Lighthouse Key quest item. This is the item you need to open the doors at the lighthouse. You’ll also get the Sleep mutator at the end of the fight. Once you’ve done your sweep of the area, head to the lighthouse at the end of the dungeon to do the next part.

The path to the lighthouse basement door is lightly guarded, save for a few Dran and a witch that charges at you as soon as you reach the far end of the connecting bridge. Clear the area of any enemies before moving forward.

Now, let me make this very clear: Do not follow the path that leads to the back door. Do not open the back door with the Lighthouse Key YET. I’ll tell you why in a bit.

Instead, take the path (as pictured above) around the side of the hill to an underground passage. You’ll recognize the entrance once you see the lit lantern by the entrance. Drop down the shaft and you’ll see a door on the far end of the tunnel If you interact with it, you’ll notice that you don’t have the right key for it.

How to open the lighthouse basement door in Remnant 2?

To open the door to the lighthouse basement door, you’ll have to open up Inspector mode and rotate the lighthouse key until you see the interact button on the screen. Pressing the interact button will cause the hilt to turn to the other side, exposing another key. This “new” key is what you need to open the door in the basement. Interact with the door again to bring up the menu and use the key.

At the end of the boiler room/workshop, you’ll find the Sparkfire Shotgun on display in front of a roaring flame. Now that’s how you get the Sparkfire Shotgun.

So, what about the back door?

At this point, you should still have the lighthouse key after opening the basement door. Head back to the surface and, this time, go through the gaping hole that was once the front door. Go to the back where you’ll see the back door of the lighthouse. Open Inspector mode again to turn the hilt to the other side. Now, you can open the door door.

You will find that the key was destroyed in the process. That is why I said you shouldn’t open the back door first. I don’t know if that is the actual design for it. But that’s just how it is.

How to get the Lighthouse Keeper’s Ring

On the other side of the lighthouse’s back door, there is an empty courtyard and a partially destroyed shed. Go through what remains of the front and you’ll be able to find the Lighthouse Keeper’s Ring on the table.

Wearing the ring allows your character to generate 3 Mod Power per second for each entity within 10m suffering from a Negative Status Effect. The effect stacks up to a maximum of 5 times.

How good is the Sparkfire Shotgun?

The Sparkfire Shotgun is a lever-action shotgun based on its cycling reload. Aside from its ability to have 7 shots in the magazine, the shotgun has a passive that allows it to fire incendiary shells that apply BURNING over 5.4 seconds. In tandem with the Ritualist Archetype, you have yet another source of elemental status effect without having to rely on a weapon’s mod slot. Additionally, the Sparkfire isn’t a boss weapon so it is capable of being upgraded all the way to +20.

At +20, the shotgun’s damage output shoots up to 300 damage in one shot. That’s three times the base damage.

The gun isn’t limited to just the Ritualist archetype. The weapon is a perfect fit for any BURNING build that might include weapons such as the Hellfire SMG and the Smolder melee weapon.

Throw in some rings that increase the damage and duration of the burning effect and you have something that can rival even Scorpion’s flames of hatred. And that’s before equipping the Talisman of the Sun for that increased fire and burning damage.

At the end of the day, you have a weapon platform that is viable in a lot of builds. This shotgun slaps hard and shoots at ranges that would put slug shotguns to shame. The stagger is also very impressive for a weapon whose primary function is to spread scorch around. If that’s not all, watching the incendiary shells hit their mark is incredibly satisfying.

And that’s everything I’ve got for this Sparkfire Shotgun guide article.
