Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Interlinking is a new combat mechanic which allows a pair in the party to combine their powers into an Ouroboros, mechanoid beings that greatly increases the characters’ abilities. Though these beings only last a few minutes, calling upon these Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros will easily turn the tides in battles.
In this guide, we will take a look at all the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros forms and combinations and their specializations.
What is a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros?
An Ouroboros is the product of the fusion of two people, resulting in a mechanoid being with enhanced strength; a manifestation of the fusers’ power and skills, if you will. Certain pairs in the party can do a mechanic called “Interlinking” where they fuse together temporarily and become an Ouroboros.
These Ouroboroses have specialties based on who is the leading person in the pair. So far, there are only three particular pairs that are capable of creating their own Ouroboros, resulting in six unique Ouroboroses with different skills: Noah and Mio, Lanz and Sena, and Eunie and Taion.
All Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros Forms
As mentioned, there are six known Ouroboros forms, two in each pair. The resulting form will depend on who is chosen as the dominant in the pair. Fusion is done mid-battle, and switching between the dominant person in a pair to use a different form provides more flexible combat options.
Noah Form
Noah’s Ouroboros form specializes in dishing high-damage attacks. This form can be done if Noah is chosen to lead over Mio.
Mio Form
Nio’s Ouroboros form specializes in being evasive and gaining quick movements. This form can be done if Mio is chosen to lead over Noah.
Lanz Form
Lanz’s Ouroboros form specializes in tanky defense and is useful when the team is in a pinch. This form can be done if Lanz is chosen to lead over Sena.
Sena Form
Sena’s Ouroboros form specializes in penetrative attacks that ignore defense. This form can be done if Sena is chosen to lead over Lanz.
Eunie Form
Eunie’s Ouroboros form specializes in regeneration and healing. This form can be done if Eunie is chosen to lead over Taion.
Taion Form
Taion’s Ouroboros form specializes in inflicting status effects to incapacitate enemies. This form can be done if Taion is chosen to lead over Eunie.
How to Power up Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros
As the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 characters level up, they can also power up their Ouroboros through their respective Soul Trees using Soul Points that can be collected during battles. Within the Soul Tree, players can choose to spend Soul Points to unlock nodes which can provide different kinds of boosts such as an attack power increase or an extended Ouroboros uptime.
Heat Gauge
An interlink can only be done temporarily as every Ouroboros has a heat gauge that steadily rises up during an Ouroboros’ uptime. Once the heat gauge fills up, the pair will unlink from each other as a way to cool down their interlinking. During an Ouroboros’ uptime, it’s recommended that players should manage their arts and skills, and save some gauge time enough to dish out a powerful Talent Art.
Chain Order
Even Ouroboroses can participate in Chain Orders, making it possible to insert powerful Ouroboros Talent Arts within a party’s combo.
