The new expansion has introduced a lot of new guns in the game, and we couldn’t help but make a Destiny 2 Lightfall weapon tier list. Some weapons are almost game-breaking, allowing you to dominate even Crucible matches, though others feel a bit mediocre. As such, let’s take a look at the best weapons in the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion.
Destiny 2 Lightfall Weapon Tier List
Here’s our tier list of every weapon in Destiny 2 Lightfall:
R | Weapons |
S | Final Warning, Round Robin, The Immortal, Dimensional Hypotrochoid |
A | Bite of the Fox, Winterbite, Verglas Curve, Regnant, Harsh Language, Trust, Astral Horizon, Buzzard, Perpetualis, The SWARM |
B | Phyllotactic Spiral, Eclipctic Distaff, Prodigal Return, Deterministic Chaos, Raconteur, Synchronic Roulette, Hand In Hand, Nameless Midnight, Circular Logic |
C | Jurom's Claw, Marisilon-C, Coronach-22, Volta Bracket, Caretaker, Battlefield Scar, Nasreddin, Base Ostinato, Autumn Wind, Irukanji, Senuna S16 |
That’s the tier list for the weapons that dropped on the Lightfall expansion of Destiny 2, in our opinion. Some of them are reprised versions of older weapons coming back with better stats and a new element, but most are new, so there’s a lot you can play around with.
With the introduction of the new Strand element, there are a lot of things to consider when choosing the best weapon. From beating the Legendary campaign to taking part in the Root of Nightmares raid, there are a lot of ways to add new weapons to your arsenal. Though considering that some of the new Lightfall additions are a bit lackluster, you might want to prioritize getting some of the best guns first.
S-Tier Weapons
S-Tier weapons are the cream of the crop that absolutely dominate the meta of Destiny 2 Lightfall. These weapon excel due to their high damage and amazing perks that make them a must for PvP and PvE. Here are the best weapons that were added in Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion:
Final Warning
One of the most deadly weapons added to Destiny 2 period is the Final Warning. This Strand sidearm can mark enemies which cause bullets to track them upon hipfire and even Unravel them. This weapon not only goes great with the Hunter Strand build but can increase critical attack damage on marked foes.
Round Robin
One of the craftable Hand Cannons in Destiny 2 Lightfall is the Round Robin. This gun is a beast in Crucible matches and is suitable for long ranged combat. You can two shot other players with the right traits. The fact that it’s craftable makes it easier to acquire than most of the other S-tier weapons on this list.
The Immortal
With the meta inching favor towards SMGs, The Immortal is an S-tier pick for any PvE and PvP content. This legendary SMG shoots 750 RPM with high damaging kinetic rounds and has good amount of traits to choose from.
Dimensional Hypotrochoid
As far as grenade launchers go, the Dimensional Hypotrochoid is the best one in Lightfall. This legendary stasis grenade launcher is craftable so it’s easy to pine for those god rolls. With the right traits, you can spam non stop grenades at the enemy.
A-Tier Weapons
A-Tier weapons are great on their own, though not quite as good to be the best. Still no reason to look down on them if they match the build you’re going for as they still have the potential to dominate most of the content in the game.
Bite of the Fox
Marksman are a deadly opponent to face in Crucible matches but the Bite of the Fox is a gun that really gives them an edge. This high damaging legendary sniper rifle can two shot enemies and has a lot of traits like Arrowhead Brake and Explosive Payload that help earn its spot pretty high up on this Destiny 2 Lightfall weapon tier list.
Winterbite
Lightfall didn’t really add that much melee weapons but the Winterbite glaive is a good one. It’s a weapon that can fire a large ball of energy at your enemies which freezes them preventing foes from moving around.
Verglas Curve
With the ability to give you Stasis crystals upon killing enemies, the Verglas Curve has a pretty good selling point. Getting Final Blows ensures you have an unlimited supply of Stasis arrows that you can introduce your enemies to.
Regnant
Regnant is another decent grenade launcher to have on your arsenal if you don’t have Dimensional Hypotrochoid. This legendary grenade launcher has some pretty good traits such as Confined Launch and Unrelenting which makes it a great pick.
Harsh Language
Another grenade launcher that makes its way high up on this Destiny 2 Lightfall weapon tier list, Harsh Language is great in a lot of PvE content of the expansion. It could stand to go toe-to-toe with Regnant thanks to having a bunch of good traits for a potential god roll but it only has 1 magazine so you have to reload after every shot.
Trust
Trust is a legendary hand cannon with high accuracy and has a predictable recoil pattern which makes it great for precision shots. It’s traits make it great for many of Lightfall’s PvE content.
Astral Horizon
Shotguns are a bit lackluster in Lightfall but thankfully Astra Horizon is a great addition. Despite its high recoil, it packs a heavy punch and has an increased rate of fire with a lot of traits that make it dominate PvE.
Buzzard
This reprised version of the Buzzard is better than ever and is still as deadly as before. This legendary sidearm has a high rate of fire and is pretty reliable no matter the scenario.
Perpetualis
Perpetualis is a craftable legendary auto rifle that offers a lot of good traits. Its not exactly new to the weapon pool but this reprised version offers new perks that make it deadlier than before.
The SWARM
The SWARM may be slow firing but it deals a lot of damage with low recoil when you’re standing still. It’s really great for raids, Lost Sectors, and most of the Lightfall PvE content thanks to it good range of perks.
B-Tier Weapons
B-tier weapons are average additions to the Lightfall expansion. They’re not bad, but compared to some of the better picks on this Destiny 2 Lightfall Weapon tier list, they’re don’t exactly excel either.
- Phyllotactic Spiral
- Eclipctic Distaff
- Prodigal Return
- Deterministic Chaos
- Raconteur
- Synchronic Roulette
- Hand In Hand
- Nameless Midnight
- Circular Logic
C-Tier Weapons
C-tier weapons are unfortunately very underwhelming especially when compared to some of the other picks on this list. They’re either not very good or something serious is holding back their potential from being used in any of Destiny 2’s PvP and PvE content.
- Jurom’s Claw
- Marisilon-C
- Coronach-22
- Volta Bracket
- Caretaker
- Battlefield Scar
- Nasreddin
- Base Ostinato
- Autumn Wind
- Irukanji
- Senuna S16
