Daphne is not only the 4th boss of the game but she is also a Spark Hunter that is favored by Cursa. She can fire projectiles from an elevated position and uses Ooze effects on opponents that get too close to her. Like Specter, she has 3 phases that players are required to deal with and once they manage to overcome them, they will be awarded greatly.

To fight Daphne, players are recommended to use Mario, Luigi, and Edge to quickly defeat her. Among the bosses that Mario will face, she is the most cunning boss to face so complex strategy and thinking are required to beat her as well as preparation.

When the battle starts, players will need to remember the following points to defeat the 4th main boss of the game:

  • At the start, the 1st objective is to reach Daphne’s position while taking little damage as possible. It is best to have a Tank type Hero like Browser or Close range fighter like Edge to fend off enemies while the rest of the party heads on fast. Equip Glitter Spark to distract the Sea Stooges from the pipes and take them down by bulk
  • Beware of Sea Stooges for they can do splash attacks and knock your party members out of bounds.
  • Use Luigi skill, Steely Stare, and other sniping skills if there are enemies that manage to get through from the rear.
  • Upon approaching Daphne, attack from opposite sides as her front is fully protected.
  • As Daphne enters her 2nd phase, the map will begin to change and minions known as the Squashettes and Lone Wolves will appear. Beware of the Squashettes attacks for they can send Heroes flying from afar.
  • Following the same tactic as her 1st phase, attack her from opposite sides until she is defeated for the 2nd time.
  • In her 3rd phase, it will become very easy now to get to her as players can to chained Team Jumps. Use jump pads and pipes across the map to get to her quickly and as usual, attack her from opposite sides until she is defeated.
  • Use Super Effects to keep enemies busy and distracted so that path to Daphne is clear.
  • Once Daphne is defeated fully, players will receive the 2nd Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal allowing them to move to the next Planet.
