Charcadet is one of the newest Pokémon that players can catch and train in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Depending on what version one is playing, it can either evolve into an Armarouge or a Ceruledge. However, it’s one of the Pokémon that do not evolve in the conventional “level up” method like most Pokémon do.
In this guide, we will talk about how to evolve Charcadet into an Armarouge or a Ceruledge and share some tips and tricks on how to get one early on in the game.
Where to get a Charcadet?
Charcadet is an uncommon sighting in the middle and lower regions of Paldea, in both the east and west sides of the island. Refer to the map above for their spawn regions.
How to Evolve a Charcadet to Armarouge or Ceruledge
Once you have a Charcadet, head over to Zapapico located in east-northeast of The Great Crater of Paldea. Head to the middle of the town to find a gentleman standing near the small fountain. Talk to him and he will ask you to bring 10 pieces of either Bronzor Fragments or Sinistea Chips to trade with an Auspicious Armor (Violet) or a Malicious Armor (Violet).
Both Pokémon are exclusive to their respective versions, and they can be found roaming near ruins. These pieces can also be obtained from defeating their respective evolutions: Bronzong and Polteageist.
Once you have enough pieces, you can go back to the gentleman and trade them for the armor; the particular kind of armor can only be obtained from their respective version. Then, head to your Inventory > Other Items section, choose the armor and use it on your Charcadet to evolve it into an Armarouge (Auspicious) or a Ceruledge (Malicious).
You can trade with the gentleman multiple times as long as you have enough of the needed fragments on hand. If you want to get the version specific item, you can have a Pokémon hold on to it and trade that Pokémon to the other version, i.e.: Have a Pokémon hold on to the Auspicious Armor and trade it to the Violet version, then use it on a Charcadet to get an Armarouge in Violet. You can also have the evolved form traded, however it would have the original trainer tagged in its dex info.
