Lost Ark: Sea of Indolence Guide
The Sea of Indolence in Lost Ark is a unique Tier-2 end game Abyss Dungeon that’s separated into two parts. The very first part places you and your group of 8 in a scuba gear where you’ll have to fight through the dungeon with new abilities. The second part adds a challenge in where after you defeat the first boss in Sea of Indolence, you’re given a meter that slowly drains as you lose oxygen.
You should take some time to practice the new skills given to you at the start of the dungeon as you’ll be using them to fight the first boss instead of your regular skills.
Sea of Indolence How to Defeat Deep Sea Orboros
The first boss you’ll be fighting is the Deep Sea Orboros which isn’t too challenging as most of its attacks are quite telegraphed. Make sure to get out of the way if its facing you and stay out of the circle indicators for his AOE damage. Here are the best tips and strategy to take Deep Sea Orboros down:
- Focus on the Giant Shark: The Deep Sea Orboros will summon the Deep Sea Shankrima periodically during your fight with it. Focus on the big shark minion first as it will give you a big damage buff against the boss once you take it down which makes the fight easier.
- Watch Out For Boss’ Abilities: Getting hit by the Deep Sea Orboros abilities will net you damage over time that can stack. Take enough hits from this boss’ abilities and that damage stack can be terrifying.
- Pack Some Panaceas: Make sure to pack some Panaceas to clear the effects of the damage stack. Use Panaceas when the damage from the boss’ abilities has stacked 4 times.
- Bring a Paladin, Gunlancer, or Soulfist: a Paladin can clear the effects of the damage stack by using the Holy Protection purify tripod. Gunlancers and Soulfists can also do this if they elect for the right skills and tripods.
Sea of Indolence How to Refill Oxygen
You can refill your oxygen meter by standing near oxygen bubbles from the floor or by consuming the underwater plans marked on your mini-map. After your fight with the Deep Sea Orboros, you’ll lose your scuba gear and you’ll have an oxygen meter that you need to keep filled as it depletes slowly over time. If this oxygen meter becomes empty, you begin to take a large amount of damage.
Only one person from your party can consume a flower at a time however it will respawn back after a few seconds. You won’t really get too bothered by this meter until you face the second boss.
Sea of Indolence How to Defeat Indolence Sentinel Akam
The second boss you’ll be fighting is the Indolence Sentinel Akam which can be challenging due to the oxygen meter you’ll also have to watch out for. This boss has an attack (indicated in yellow) that can decrease your oxygen meter should you take a hit. The Indolence Sentinel Akam can also stun you and even one out your party in one-shot so you need to pay attention. Here are the best tips and strategy to take out the Indolence Sentinel Akam:
- Prepare for Stun: attacks from the Indolence Sentinel can place a stack on you. On the fourth stack, you’ll be petrified which you need your party to break you out of. You should use Panaceas to clear you out upon the third stack. If you’re stunned, you need your party to break you out, a purple bar on top of your character will show you how many more times you need to get hit to free yourself from being stunned.
- Avoid the One-Hit Kill: during your fight, you’ll get a warning message in a few seconds before a massive red marker appears on the whole level. A small golden circle will then appear on a random party member which you immediately need to get inside of to avoid getting killed in one hit.
After you’ve damaged the Indolence Sentinel Akam enough, it’ll fall down to its upper half. While it’ll take more damage from you, it’ll also become more aggressive. Take note when it crawls backwards as this is an indicator that it’s preparing to charge forward to petrify your party members. You’ll be in trouble if you get caught as the Indolence Sentinel Akam can utilize its one-hit kill ability putting down any members unlucky enough to be unable to get into the golden circle.
The Indolence Sentinel Akam does have other attacks, but you’ll be safe so long as you stay out of red circles which is the general rule when fighting bosses in Lost Ark.
