Recently, a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was uploaded on Pokémon’s Youtube channel featuring not only new battle moves that trainers can use when battling but also a new Pokémon reveal and new items that can be used in battle.
First off, we see a new dragon-type Pokémon known as Cyclizar. This new Pokémon is a Dragon/ Normal Type Pokemon that is very common in the Paldean region. It is usually a household pet with a mild disposition and is used as a cycle. Cyclizars don’t mind being ridden because the warmth of a rider helps stave off the cold. It travels at a speed of 70 MPH & has a thick hard head and tail that has a good balance of offense & defense.
One of the most noticeable moves is known as SHED TAIL. This move allows the user to create a substitute for itself using its own HP before switching places with a party Pokémon in waiting.
Another featured item shown in the trailer is Mirror Herb. This in-battle item can be used to copy the stats of your opponent’s Pokémon giving you the advantage to defeat them.
Loaded Dice is another new item revealed in the trailer that makes mutli-strike moves such as Bullet Seed Fury Swipes and Pin Missle more likely to hit more times. Equipping to Pokémons that use this type of move will prove to be beneficial especially in competitive battles.
What is Terastilized in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
This feature is exclusive to the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet franchise in which it is a phenomenon that makes Pokémons shine like crystals. When Pokémons uses this phenomenon, a Terra Jewel appears on their forehead like a gemstone. All Pokemons in Paldea region can do this but there are rules when doing so.
- Each Pokémon has a Tera Type. A Pokémon’s Tera Type is inactive until the Pokémon Terastallizes, at which time the Pokémon’s type will change to its Tera Type.
- There are 18 types, meaning there are countless combinations of Pokémon and Tera Types.
- Terastallizes allows you to enhance your battle strategies by increasing the power of any moves that have the same type as your Pokémon’s Tera Type or by changing your Pokémon’s weaknesses.
What is Needed to Terastallize Pokémon?
Trainers in the Paldean region will need to use a Terra Orb to use the Terastilized feature. These orbs are important as they will give trainers the advantage in battle. However when used, a Terra orb will lose energy and you won’t be able to use it again until it’s been recharged. You can charge your Tera Orb if you touch crystals overflowing with Terastal energy or go to a Pokémon Center.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is set to be released for the Nintendo switch on November 18, 2022, worldwide. Players can pre-order the game both physically and digitally now.
