The developers of Sniper Elite 5 are working closely with Royal Arms in order to ensure authenticity and realism of the weapons in Sniper Elite 5. Joe Greig, Lead Audio Designer, of Rebellion Developments described the game as “a very cinematic sounding game” meaning every gun up above was recorded from the firing of actual WW2-era weapons.

Each gun can be customized with attachments so they fit your preference. Changing your loadouts can significantly affect how a mission goes. In addition, weapons can now be shown aiming down sights in first-person mode, a feature newly added to Sniper Elite 5. In the previous Sniper Elite games, you could only aim in first-person when using sniper rifles.

How Weapons Work in Sniper Elite 5 - Sniper Elite 5 Weapons

How Weapons Work in Sniper Elite 5?

Sniper Elite 5 weapons have multiple aspects to pay attention to:

    • Power: penetration power of the weapon
    • Rate Of Fire: how fast the weapon fires
    • Control: weapon recoil
    • Mobility: how easy to carry the weapon
    • Audible Range: distance gunshots from the weapon can be heard
    • Zoom: scope multiplier of the weapon
    • Magazine Size: number of bullets inside the magazine of the weapon

Weapons have a Pros and Cons displayed at the bottom to help you more accurately discern which gun is for you. Different guns perform differently depending on the situation at hand so always pay attention to your loadout.

You can also switch ammo types depending on what you need like Armor Piercing rounds. You can even modify your guns to be nonlethal to avoid casualties of everyone besides your target. The ability to modify your weapons to suit your playstyle in Sniper Elite 5 is endless.

Can You Change Weapons in the Middle of Missions?

Yes, you can change weapons in the middle of missions through the use of workbenches. You can find workbenches which will allow you to customize your loadout at your leisure to better adapt to the changing elements in Sniper Elite 5. Read our Rebellion Talks About the Depth of Features in Sniper Elite 5 to learn more.

According to the Weapons and Customization trailer, Jordan Woodward the Head of Design for Sniper Elite 5 commented that workbenches “allows players to change their playstyle in real time without having to go back to the front end or committing to a loadout from the start of the mission.”

Workbenches can be found in armories, strategic locations, or resistance caches. There will be plenty of places where you can modify your guns should you ever need to so keep an eye out.
