The V Rising Twilight Snapper is one of the fishes that can be caught in the game. Though there is not much use for the fish aside from salvaging it for fish oil and scales, the Twilight Snapper has another use that will turn out to be beneficial in the long run.

How to get a Twilight Snapper in V Rising
The Twilight Snapper can be caught by fishing at fishing spots. It is a random catch among other fishes and loot from fishing. In order to get a Twilight Snapper in V Rising, you have to get a fishing pole first.
How to get a Fishing Pole
To unlock the Fishing Pole, you must first defeat Rufus the Foreman (Lv.20) who can be found in the Bandit Logging Camp. Once defeated, you will gain access to the Fishing Pole recipe and the Woodworking Bench recipe.
Craft the Woodworking Bench first using these materials:
- x12 Plank
- x60 Animal Hide
Then, craft the Fishing Pole using these materials:
- x6 Plank
- x3 Copper Ingot
- x3 Coarse Thread
Where and how to fish a Twilight Snapper in V Rising
To fish a Twilight Snapper in V Rising, look for white spots in bodies of water. Then, with the fishing pole on hand, click on the spots and wait for a splash in the water before clicking again. You will catch a fish if you manage to click right after the splash. These fishing spots can only be fished once, and then they disappear for a couple of in-game hours before showing up again.
What is the Twilight Snapper used for in V Rising?
The Twilight Snapper is used in summoning the Putrid Rat in a Vermin Nest. The recipe goes:
- x8 Grave Dust
- x4 Fish Bone
- x1 Twilight Snapper
This is the only way that the Putrid Rat can be summoned and fought in the game so far.
Aside from summoning the Putrid Rat, the twilight Snapper can be salvaged using The Devourer to get:
- x1 Fish Bone
- x10 Fish Oil
- x20 Scales
Scales will be needed to craft higher tier armors, so be sure to collect them.
Putrid Rat Rewards
Again, the V Rising Twilight Snapper is an important component to summon the Putrid Rat V Blood Boss. Defeating the summoned Putrid Rat will reward you with the Rat Form which lets you turn into a rat. In this form, enemies will have a harder time spotting you, so you can easily slip past them in certain situations.
