The Fishing Rally: Throne World is a Destiny 2 quest that’s exclusive to owners of the Season Pass. While most quests often have you blasting through foes with your favorite Exotics, this one is one of the simpler quests but has some pretty good rewards. You’ll be asked to go fishing in Savathûn’s throne world to catch some pretty rare fish, which isn’t as simple of an endeavor as it sounds.

Read on, and this guide will teach you how to start the Destiny 2 Fishing Rally: Throne World quest, the steps to complete it, and its rewards.

How to Start Fishing Rally: Throne World in Destiny 2?

To start the Fishing Rally: Throne World quest in Destiny 2, talk to Suraya Hawthorne in The Tower. She’ll give you the quest briefly, telling you that there are some fish spotted in Savathûn’s throne world and she wants you to investigate.

Note that you do need the Season of the Deep Season Pass to activate the Fishing Rally: Throne World quest. If you’re a season pass owner, you can talk to Hawthorne to begin the quest. You can find Hawthorne in The Tower, near the gunsmith. Just look for Ikora Rey, and you’ll find Suraya Hawthorne in the exact same spot. She’s the person you need to talk to in order to grab the quest.

You’ll have to first unlock fishing in Destiny 2 before you can do this quest even with the Season Pass. We have a guide for how to do right here.

Fishing Rally: Throne World Quest Walkthrough

Completing the Fishing Rally: Throne World quest is simple, you just have to continue catching fish in Savathûn’s throne world until you’ve gained a total of 500 points.

After taking the quest from Hawthorne, go to Savathûn’s throne world and head to the Miasma area where you’ll find the fishing pond in the northwest area. From here, you just have to fish.

    Fishing Rally: Throne World Objectives

There are a total of 6 steps to complete the Fishing Rally: Throne World quest:

    • Step 1: Gain 100 points to clear Participation
    • Step 2: Gain 100 points to clear Bronze
    • Step 3: Gain 100 points to clear Silver
    • Step 4: Gain 100 points to clear Gold
    • Step 5: Gain 100 points to clear Platinum
    • Step 6: Return to Hawthorne

The first five steps in the Fishing Rally: Throne World quest will require that you score 100 points each. This will go from Participation, to Bronze, to Silver, to Gold, and then Platinum for a total of 500 points. How many points you receive depends on what kind of fish you catch. Exotic fish give the most points, but they’re an incredibly rare catch.

    • Score: 0/500
      • Exotic fish: 20 points
      • Legendary fish: 5 points
      • Rare: 2 points
      • Uncommon: 1 point

Once you’ve gather all 500 points, you need to go back and talk to Hawthorne to complete the final step.

Fishing Rally: Throne World Fish Types

Here are the fish you can catch in Savathûn’s throne world:

    • Uncommon Fish (1 point)
      • Cydonian Cichlid
      • At Least It’s a Carp
      • Hadrian Koi
      • Minueting Mackerel
    • Rare Fish (5 points)
      • Aachen Cichlid
      • Chiron’s Carp
      • Koi Cirrus
      • Agronatlantic Salmon
      • Traxian Toad
      • Lamian Lobster
      • Cupbearer Catfish
      • Gusevian Gar
    • Legendary Fish (10 points)
      • Salvager’s Salmon
      • Gnawing Hun Gar
      • Ignition Toad
      • Deafening Whisker
      • Servant Lobster
    • Exotic Fish (20 points)
      • Kheprian Axehead
      • Aeonian Alpha-Betta

In order to catch higher-quality fish in Destiny 2, you need bait. This is consumed once you catch a fish or if a fish manages to get away from you while you’re reeling them in. While you can catch fish without a bait, you will lower the odds of better-quality fish being caught. So it’s always best to check your Fishing Tackle box for bait.

The Fishing Tackle box is also going to be important here. Check it out to see the best fishing spot in the Miasma fishing pond of Savathûn’s throne world. This spot has an increased activity buff, which gives you better odds of catching rarer fish.

Once you’ve caught enough fish to fill out the Participation Points to 500 for the Platinum score, return to Hawthorne to complete the quest. This quest should take a little over 2 hours to complete, depending on how lucky you are with your catch.

Fishing Rally: Throne World Quest Rewards

Here are the quest rewards you’ll get upon completing Fishing Rally: Throne World in Destiny 2:

    • Upgrade Module
    • Enhancement Core
    • Deep Engram
    • Enhancement Prism
    • Legendary Gear

The Legendary Gear rewards will be a choice between two Reckoning weapons with static rolls.
