In Halo Infinite all Spartan Core upgrades change the way each battle is fought, you just need to find the exact location to unlock all of them. Thanks to Master Chief’s adaptable equipment you are now stronger than ever on the field.
If you want to go toe-to-toe with some of Halo Infinite’s tough bosses then you’re going to want all the Spartan Core upgrades scattered throughout the Zeta Halo Ring.
We’ll show you the location of where you can find each Spartan Core upgrade, how many there are, and how many you need to max out each equipment upgrades.
You might want to find a Banshee for this one or unlock the WASP because finding these Spartan Core upgrades is going to take you all across the Zeta Halo Ring in Halo Infinite.
Halo Infinite All Spartan Core Upgrade Locations
Zeta Halo Ring is divided into quite a few islands. You’ll start in the Northwest of the map and move counter-clockwise as you proceed throughout the campaign.
A little after you’ve completed the main story mission, Pelican Down, you can find Banshees roaming around the open map. You can steal one which should allow you to go to most locations in the map and look for the Spartan Core upgrades.
Below are the Spartan Core upgrades, in order, where you can find them conveniently:
Northwest Region of Zeta Halo Ring
There are 17 Spartan Cores in this region. This is the region with the most Spartan Core upgrades.
Outpost Tremonius has 3 Spartan Cores – right after your boss fight with Tremonius himself, you’ll be introduced to the open world. Before you take the Pelican to head to the Tower, you can go ahead and collect 3 Spartan Cores in the Tremonius compound.
There is a Spartan Core directly nearby the elevator after you emerge from underground.
Exit the building and take a right turn, there’s a dead tree with a Spartan Core nearby.
The third Spartan Core is located at the west of the camp, nearby where the Pelican lands after you clear out the outpost. The Spartan Core is located behind a structure.
A Spartan Core is located in a cave to the east of Outpost Tremonius. There will be a hill with three Forerunner pillars you can use as a landmark. Go to the east of this hill and walk along until you find a cave marked with green lights. Follow the path of the cave trail and you’ll find a Spartan Core.
A Spartan Core is located southeast of FOB Alpha. You’ll have to fight your way through this fortress as it is guarded by the Banished. In the building, there should be a hole filled with cords you can drop into. You can take the gravity lift and find the Spartan Core there. Alternatively, there is also a secret hole on the cliffside overseeing the whole base that you can take that will lead directly to the Spartan Core upgrade.
A Spartan Core is in the corner of a room before you take the grav lift in the Armory of Reckoning.
Two Spartan Cores are present during the main story location Excavation Site.
A Spartan Core resides to the southwest of the Excavation Site in the cliffside.
Another Spartan Core resides to the southeast of the Excavation Site inside a bunker with a Ghost inside.
A Spartan Core can be located north of FOB Bravo, there will be a Forerunner architecture where the Spartan Core upgrade resides which will lock you out via a red force field. Head towards the east from the force field and you’ll find a dirt road with red lights which will lead you through a door. There’ll be enemies inside you’ll have to face in order to get the Spartan Core.
A Spartan Core can be located on the southeast of FOB Bravo. Head to the Horn of Abolition and go to the southern gate and inside a collapsed architecture. There is a Spartan Core located there.
A Spartan Core can be located in the Forge of Teash. There is a Chopper Repair building where you’ll find the upgrade up on the ramp.
A Spartan Core can be located in the Redoubt of Sundering. You can find it to the east from the center of the location nearby some Banished boxes.
A Spartan Core is hiding in one of the drop pods northeast of FOB Echo.
A Spartan Core can be located north from the High-Value Target Ik ‘Novus inside a building with a dead brute. You can find this location ways off west from FOB Echo.
A Spartan Core can be found at the southernmost of this region. The upgrade is hidden cave which can be accessed with a flying vehicle to go along the hexagonal tiles making up the corners of the Zeta Halo Ring. Fly along the southern corner of the northwest region until you find a hidden cave where there’ll be Banished and the Spartan Core waiting for you.
Southwest Region of Zeta Halo Ring
This region has 8 Spartan Cores. Due to its mountainous terrain, we recommend finding a flying vehicle before trying to find the Spartan Cores.
- Two Spartan Cores can be located in The Tower which is one of the main story missions where you will face Chak’Lok in battle.
- A Spartan Core can be located in the ground floor of The Tower.
- A Spartan Core can be located a bit above the floor where you fight Chak’Lok.
- A Spartan Core upgrade can be located northeast of The Tower. Make your way to the very edges and you’ll find a Spartan Core cache sitting on a hexagonal surface.
- A Spartan Core can be located south of The Tower, there is an encampment along with several drop pods. There will be a Spartan Core cache you can located right in the center.
- A Spartan Core can be located in a crashed Pelican directly south of FOB Foxtrot.
- A Spartan Core can be located in Ransom Keep where The Banished tear UNSC vehicles to build new ones. You’ll find the cache at the back of the base with some of The Banished’s containers.
- A Spartan Core can be found directly east of Ransom Keep. There is an enemy encampment on top of the hill where a Spartan Core upgrade can be acquired near the edge of the cliff.
- A Spartan Core can be located when rescuing Carerra Squad. There is a gorge below that location where you can find the cache upgrade along with some weapons hidden away.
Southern Region of Zeta Halo Ring
This region contains 5 Spartan Core upgrades. It is the fewest of any regions and will mostly take place where the Pelican Down mission is located. You won’t be able to access this region until Act 3 of the Halo Infinite campaign.
- A Spartan Core can be located in the east AA Gun. There is an illuminated tunnel with a Spartan Core upgrade inside.
- A Spartan Core can be located in a building in the north AA Gun just ahead of the grav lift controls.
- A Spartan Core can be located by heading southwest of the north AA Gun. It’s on top of the mountains where you’ll have to use your Grappleshot to reach it. You can destroy the Propaganda Tower in the location to reveal its location.
- At the beginning of the Pelican Down mission, you can climb the broken wing of a downed Pelican to get the Spartan Core cache.
- A Spartan Core resides in the west AA Gun location. Look left before heading up the elevator.
Southeast Region of Zeta Halo Ring
In the penultimate section of the Zeta Halo Ring, you can find 15 Spartan Core Upgrades. You won’t be able to explore this region until The Sequence main story mission.
- A Spartan Core cache is sitting north of FOB Lima. You’ll have to climb the hexagonal tiles with your Grappleshot until you get to an outcrop where you’ll find the Spartan Core.
- A Spartan Core resides northeast of the FOB November. You can find it at the edge of the cliffside where there are hexagonal tiles.
- Southeast of FOB November lies an empty Drop Pod with a Warthog and a Spartan Core upgrade cache among them. You’ll have to travel past the lake and up the hill to find them.
- A Spartan Core can be found after lowering all the force field barriers in the Riven Gate compound. The cache resides in the bunker where the final switch is in. You can find it towards the right of the tunnel exit.
- At the center of the southeast region lies a strange alien architecture that seems like a bridge when viewed on the map. On this location, there will be Banished corpses where you’ll find a Spartan Core cache among them.
- During one of your missions to help The Weapon reach the Beacons, the Beacon in the north has a Spartan Core up its ramp.
- A Spartan Core can be located in the southeast of the northern Beacon. You’ll find it across some hexagonal tiles in a tunnel.
- A Spartan Core can be found in a mountain east of the northern Beacon. There is a hole in the ground illuminated by red lighting. You can head in and encounter enemy forces guarding the cache.
- A Spartan Core can be found near the bridge connecting the region to the mission where Pelican Down takes place. You can follow the edge of the shoreline until you encounter debris from a fallen ship. In that ship you can find the Spartan Core cache.
- A Spartan Core can be located while rescuing Fortune Squad. There is the tunnel in the rescue location area which will lead you to a chamber containing the Spartan Core.
- Outside the southwest Beacon location lies a giant boulder where you’ll find a Spartan Core upgrade.
- A Spartan Core can be located in the south section of Annex Ridge. The cache is right next to the grav cannon.
- A Spartan Core upgrade can be located in the entrance of a mountainside with a blue door. Travel to the west of FOB Juliet until you reach the cliff with hexagonal shaped surfaced and the head north until you reach it.
- A Spartan Core sits on top of the highest mountains in the southeast region on a hexagonal surface.
- A Spartan Core can be located behind the southeast Beacon.
How many Spartan Cores are there in Halo Infinite?
There are a total of 45 Spartan Cores that can be found on the Halo Infinite main campaign. They’re scattered across the Zeta Halo Ring and not the story missions so none of them are missable, unlike the Skull locations which may take place in a story mission you can’t visit back.
Why Are There Extra Spartan Cores in Halo Infinite?
There aren’t any extra Spartan Cores in Halo Infinite. If you want to fully upgrade Master Chief’s equipment you’re going to need all 45 Spartan Cores to max out their potential.
Each equipment will take 9 Spartan Cores to fully upgrade. There are 5 upgradable equipment throughout the campaign. You’re free to prioritize which of Master Chief’s equipment you want to upgrade first.
