How to Farm Nectar in Slime Rancher 2

Nectar in Slime Rancher 2 is one of the most valuable resource you can find during your playthrough. They’re not simply scarce; they’re also the only food type the Flutter Slimes/Gordo will eat. If you’re wondering how and where to get it, here’s what you need to do.

Where to find Moondew Nectar in Slime Rancher 2?

The only type of Nectar currently available in-game is the Moondew Nectar, and it can only be found exclusively in Starlight Strand.

To unlock the Starlight Strand region, go to the location highlighted on the map below. Here, you’ll spot the beginning of a small path that makes its way uphill to a Cotton Gordo Slime.

Now, feed the Cotton Grodo 32 pieces of food until it explodes and it’ll eventually reveal a Cave. Head inside the cave and activate the switch to open the rainbow portal across the water. You can now then teleport to Starlight Strand.

Tips: Giving Cotton Gordo its favorite food (Water Lettuce) doubles the benefit. This means that feeding it 16 Water Lettuce is enough to make it explode instead of 32 vegetables of any kind.

It's also advisable to have a Jetpack ready before you travel to Starlight Strand and start collecting Moondew Nectar. Check out this article on how to unlock the Jetpack.

Once you’re in the Starlight Strand region, you can then start searching for huge lavender flowers with a blue drop in the middle of the Petals. Primarily, it grows on tops of trees and rocks, but it also populates in cliff sides. (See the images below for reference).

You’ll find Moondew Nectars spawning from the middle of these flowers and can sometimes give you an extra grab. You’ll discover the Flutter Gordo Slime down by the ruins if you head south. A bunch of Moondew Nectar can be found here, and if you travel east from the Flutter Gordo Slime and across the bridge, you’ll also find a plethora of Flutter Slimes, which may be captured and brought back to the conservatory.

Note: Moondew Nectars only spawn every evening or nighttime, after 5PM.

Additionally, majority of the flowers are found high up on trees and rocks, making use of your Jetpack is a necessity. Moondew Nectar can also be found simply lying on the ground and can be collected with no effort.

How to Farm Moondew Nectar in Slime Rancher 2?

Due to its exclusivity and short shelf life, Nectar is not something you can grow easily. Therefore, if you wish to keep a few Flutter Slimes and reliably feed them, you’ll need to forage for this resource near its spawn region.

Tips: You could keep Flutter Largo on your ranch instead of pure Flutter Slimes. In this method, you won't have to worry about running out of Flutter Plorts and may instead feed them the food of their partnered slime.
