The Quarry Hard Pass is one of the trophies or achievements that players can obtain in the game. This requires the player to refuse getting Eliza’s help of providing a tarot reading to see a glimpse of the possible events in the future.
This is one of the trickiest rewards that is in The Quarry, and one that is currently bugged, too. So if you are having a hard time getting The Quarry Hard Pass trophy/achievement, we have made this guide to help you out.
How to Obtain the Hard Pass Trophy/Achievement in The Quarry
The Hard Pass Trophy/Achievement is simply described as refusing Eliza’s help, but there are actually two conditions that have to be met in order to get this properly:
- You must collect a tarot card in each chapter starting from the Prologue, then whenever you visit Eliza in between chapters, select the “Move On” option when she offers to give you a reading. We have a guide that shows all The Quarry Tarot Card Locations if you need some help finding them.
- You must NOT discover The Hierophant card in chapter 9 since acquiring it will lock you out from refusing Eliza’s help. As soon as Eliza sees the card, she will immediately go into a flashback, which counts as a reading.
It also helps to keep all the counselors alive so that you can still have someone to control and explore around with in the different areas to look for the tarot cards.
How to avoid seeing The Hierophant card in Chapter 9 in The Quarry
The Hierophant card can be found in the storm shelter underneath Chris’ office in Chapter 9 where Abigail and Emma are hiding while waiting for sunrise. While exploring as Abigail, do NOT head towards the stairs on the other side of the room, otherwise the camera will pan at an angle that will show the card. When this happens, you cannot turn away from this angle unless you pick up the card.
If ever you accidentally discover the card, relaunch the game to go back to a previous save point. Then, at chapter 9, just immediately head straight to the ladder and interact with it to initiate the next scenes with Abigail and Emma.
The Quarry Hard Pass is Bugged
There have been reports that several players who have tried to unlock the Hard Pass Trophy/Achievement still wasn’t able to get it despite following the steps properly and fulfilling the conditions. This is a bug that has been observed to have affected most players who have updated to the latest patch (v1.03). The devs have been made aware about this issue and so we should expect that this will be fixed in another update.
As a workaround for now, disc players on PlayStation or Xbox can try to re-install the game and boot it up while the console is unplugged from the internet to prevent it from getting the patch. Once the the trophy/achievement has been obtained, then the game can just be patched as normal.
