Genshin Impact gives you the chance to bond with Gorou through a Hangout Event. Here’s all the information you need to know on how to unlock the Genshin Impact Gorou event, every important dialogue choice, how to get every ending, and the rewards you’ll get.

The Canine General’s Special Operations is Gorou’s Hangout Quest. This is Gorou’s first ever Hangout Event.

As of Genshin Impact 2.3 update in November 24, 2021 players can now participate in Gorou’s Hangout Event.

How to Unlock Canine General’s Special Operations

The unlock requirements for Gorou’s Hangout Event are quite hefty. You need to be at least Adventurer Rank 40 and have completed Chapter 2 Act 3 “Omnipresence Over Mortals” Archon Quest as well as Kokomi’s Story Quest.

The Canine General’s Special Operations is the first act on Gorou’s Hangout Event.

In order to unlock Canine General’s Special Operations, the player needs to be Adventure Rank 30, requires 2 Story Keys, completed Dracaena Somnolenta Chapter: Act I: Warriors’ Dreams Like Spring Grass Renewing, and and completed Chapter II Act III: Omnipresence Over Mortals.

How to Acquire Story Keys for Gorou’s Hangout Event

To acquire Story Keys, you need to do a total of eight Commissions to get one. You are limited to four Commissions per day so you would need a minimum of four days to get the two Story Keys required to unlock Gorou’s Hangout Event.

How to Start Gorou’s Hangout Event?

You can access the hangout event by going to the event panel. You can start the Canine General’s Special Operations from there.

All Gorou Hangout Event Endings

The Canine General’s Special Operations has a total of five different endings. It depends on what dialogue you choose. Here’s how to get the specific ending you’re looking for.

We’ve only listed important dialogue options that influence on what particular ending you’ll get. Any other dialogue choice has no bearings on the ending.

Ending 1 – Tactical Retreat

To get Ending 1, you need to pick these important dialogue choices when they pop up.

1. Counter Measure Conference – “Why don’t I help you overcome this weakness?” and “We can start with some theoretical study…”

This is the story path for “Tactical Retreat.”

Ending 2 – Desserts Are the Best!

To get Ending 2, you need to pick a little differently from the dialogue options you chose for Ending 1.

1. Counter Measure Conference – “Why don’t I help you overcome this weakness?” and “I can act as a personality you find difficult to deal with…”
2. Professional Imitator – “Oh, it’s you. You came all this way to see me?” and “If you want to bargain, you’ll have to do as I say.”

This is the story path for “Desserts Are the Best!”

Ending 3 – That’s Uh…

To get Ending 3, you need to pick vastly different choices from the dialogue options you picked for Ending 2.

1. Counter Measure Conference – “Actually, Yae Miko’s not that bad…” and “It’s okay, let’s just ignore her.”
2. The Secret Behind the Letters – “I’ll keep watch at Yae Publishing House.”

This is the story path for “That’s Uh…”

Ending 4 – The Smiling Send-Off

To get Ending 4, you need to pick a little differently from the dialogue options you picked for Ending 3.

1. Counter Measure Conference – “Actually, Yae Miko’s not that bad…” and “It’s okay, let’s just ignore her.”
2. The Secret Behind the Letters – “It sounds like she’s falling in love.”

This is the story path for “The Smiling Send-Off.”

Ending 5 – Final Remembrance

To get Ending 5, you need to pick a little differently from the dialogue options you picked for Ending 4.

1. Counter Measure Conference – “Actually, Yae Miko’s not that bad…” and “Let’s steer clear of Yae Publishing House for now, then.”
2. Treasure Rumors – “You understand Taroumaru?”

This is the story path for “Final Remembrance.”

Can You Retry Gorou’s Hangout Event?

If you want every ending for Gorou’s Hangout Event, you’re free to retry it whenever. You won’t need to unlock it with Story Keys this time.

Gorou’s Hangout Event Rewards – All Endings

What reward you get from Gorou’s Hangout Event depends on how many endings you’ve unlocked. So you need multiple retries for the Canine General’s Special Operations to maximize your reward.

Here’s every reward you’ll get from Gorou’s Hangout Event.

• Unlock 1 Ending – Adventure EXP x100, Primogems x20, Guide to Light x3
• Unlock 2 Endings – Adventure EXP x100, Hero’s Wit x5, Prithiva Topaz Fragment x3
• Unlock 3 Endings – Adventure EXP x100, Primogems x20, Victorious Legend x5
• Unlock 4 Endings – Adventure EXP x100, Hero’s Wit x5, Prithiva Topaz Fragment x3
• Unlock 5 Endings – Adventure EXP x100, Primogems x20, Guide to Light x3

Overall you’ll get Adventure EXP x500 and 90 Primogems upon unlocking all endings as you’ll get extra Primogem upon getting achievements. So it isn’t a bad incentive to see everything Gorou’s Hangout Event has to offer.

Gorou Hangout Event Achievements

There are three achievements you can unlock for Gorou’s Hangout Event. Each will give you a certain amount of Primogem upon completion.

• General of Watatsumi – Finish Canine General’s Special Operations event and unlock all endings. Primogems x20
• Changing Times – At the Grand Narukami Shrine, draw all the fortune slips. Primogems x5
• To Tell or Not to Tell, That Is the Question – Uncover Miss Hina’s real identity at the Yae Publishing House.

Getting every achievement in Gorou’s Hangout Event gets you and extra 30 Primogems.

• Housekeep Extraordinaire – you can get this achievement by getting the Ending 1 “Tactical Retreat.”
• From the Sea Never Returning – complete Ending 3 “That’s Uh…” to get this achievement.
