With Motive Studio following the original Dead Space so faithfully, we’re all curious to see if the Dead Space Remake game length is the same as its original material. Or has anything been added that will give a couple more hours for how long to beat it? Here’s everything you need to know about the Dead Space Remake game length.

How long is Dead Space Remake?

Dead Space Remake will take 11 to 14 hours on average to beat. But if you’re eager to complete everything the game has to offer, it will take 20 Hours to 100% Dead Space Remake. Our Dead Space Remake Trophy Guide & How to Get Platinum has all the trophies and achievements listed so you know what you’re heading into.

The game can take anywhere from 11 to 14 hours to complete, depending on the player’s skill level and how much they explore the game’s various environments. This is a fairly standard length for a survival horror game, as players are often required to backtrack and explore areas multiple times in order to uncover all of the game’s secrets and lore.

How long was the original Dead Space?

The original Dead Space that was released in 2008 estimates a casual playthrough of approximately 11 hours, while a completionist playthrough would take approximately 20 hours. The Dead Space Remake game length isn’t too far off from the original Dead Space game which is very similar in terms of playtime.

    Dead Space Remake Chapter List

The Dead Space Remake has 12 Chapters which vary slightly from the original:

    • Chapter 1: New Arrivals
    • Chapter 2: Intensive Care
    • Chapter 3: Course Correction
    • Chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent
    • Chapter 5: Lethal Devotion
    • Chapter 6: Environmental Hazard
    • Chapter 7: Into the Void
    • Chapter 8: Search and Rescue
    • Chapter 9: Dead on Arrival
    • Chapter 10: End of Days
    • Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions
    • Chapter 12: Dead Space

Some chapters are a bit longer as they contain new puzzles and even some new scares thanks to its randomizer AI. Additionally, the game includes a number of side missions and optional objectives that can add to the overall playtime. Some players may choose to complete every objective and explore every nook and cranny of the game’s environments, which could take up to 20 hours or more.

Does Dead Space Remake have New Game Plus and Post Content Unlockables?

The Dead Space Remake features a new game plus which will be available after finishing the game once. If you desire to experience more of Dead Space Remake, then you can go ahead and dive back in using the new game plus feature which could double your total hours spent on Dead Space Remake. There’s even a trophy called Trusted Contractor that you can get after beating the game again on New Game+ mode.

Despite following the original Dead Space closely, Motive Studio has added some replayability improvements that will let players get the most of their time in the remake. The option to go for a new game plus and a randomizer that places new scares and atmosphere you might not have seen in the previous playthrough.

However, there are no notable post-content unlockables unless you count the new randomizer AI which will produce new scares that prevent each playthrough from feeling like the last one. So you’ll always have new experiences in the Ishimura even if you’ve already played through the remake once.

Will unlocking the Dead Space Remake Alternate Ending need more hours?

The Dead Space remake features a secret alternate ending that provides additional insight into the game’s story. To unlock it, players will need to replay the game on New Game Plus mode, which includes higher difficulty levels, stronger enemy variants, and collecting 12 Marker Fragments during your New Game Plus playthrough. So to answer the question, yes, you will need to spend more hours in Dead Space Remake if you want to unlock the secret ending. It is a highly sought-after experience for fans of the series.

Overall, the length of Dead Space Remake can vary depending on the player’s preferences and playstyle, but it is generally considered to be a fairly lengthy and immersive experience. Whether you’re a fan of survival horror games or just looking for a new adventure to dive into, Dead Space Remake is sure to keep you engaged for hours on end.
