The Haran Geppaku Futsu is the newest weapon added along in the Genshin Impact 2.6 update. It is a sword-type weapon that adds an Elemental damage bonus to its wielder’s attacks, plus it gives stacks that give an additional bonus to Normal Attack damage when triggered.

What is the Haran Geppaku Futsu?

Haran Geppaku Futsu is an Inazuman sword, and it is a katana. Futsu “Masagomaru” Masayoshi was the original forger of this piece, the Haran Geppaku Futsu is a well-known piece of work from the Futsu family of smiths. The term “Haran” derives from the way in which it mimics the tumultuous, rolling waves that surround the world’s oceans.

The Haran Geppaku Futsu can be exclusively obtained from the Weapon Event Wish as a 5-star pull.

Haran Geppaku Futsu Bonuses and Weapon Skills

Honed Flow: Elemental DMG Bonus

The wielder of the Haran Geppaku Futsu obtains 12%-24% All Elemental DMG Bonus.

In- Game Description: Obtain 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus. When other nearby party members use Elemental Skills, the character equipping this weapon will gain 1 Wavespike stack. Max 2 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When the character equipping this weapon uses an Elemental Skill, all stacks of Wavespike will be consumed to gain Rippling Upheaval: each stack of Wavespike consumed will increase Normal Attack DMG by 20% for 8s.

Honed Flow: Wavespike

When other nearby party members use Elemental Skills, the character equipping the Haran Geppaku Futsu weapon will gain 1 Wavespike stack. Max 2 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3 seconds.

When the character equipping this weapon uses an Elemental skill, all stacks of Wavespike will be consumed to gain Rippling Upheaval: each stack of Wavespike consumed will increase Normal Attack DMG by 20%-40% for 8 seconds.

Ascending the Haran Geppaku Futsu to the max will require these materials:

  • 225,000 Mora
  • 5x Narukami’s Wisdom
  • 14x Narukami’s Joy
  • 14x Narukami’s Affection
  • 6x Narukami’s Valor
  • 23x Gloomy Statuette
  • 27x Dark Statuette
  • 41x Deathly Statuette
  • 15x Old Handguard
  • 23x Kageuchi Handguard
  • 27x Famed Handguard

These particular materials can be received as rewards for clearing the domain or as drops for defeating these enemies:

  • Narukami’s Wisdom/Joy/Affection/Valor – Court of Flowing Sand (Tue/Fri/Sun)
  • Gloomy/Dark/Deathly Statuette – Dropped by Abyss Heralds, Abyss Lectors, and Shadowy Husks
  • Old/Kageuchi/Famed Handguard – Dropped by Nobushi and Kairagi

All the materials above can also be crafted from their lower tier variant at crafting stations.

As for refining the weapon, you’ll need to pull 4 more copies of it, and the total cost of all the refinement is at 30,000 Mora.

Should I pull for the Haran Geppaku Futsu?

If you are aiming to get a good sword for your Elemental DPSers, or just want to complete your collection, you can pull for it. Otherwise, you can just stay with the Mistsplitter Reforged if you have it, which also provides the same elemental bonus.

Other than that, with the way Wavespike works, it is best maximized when you often join parties so that you can proc the stacks consistently. If you are the kind who plays solo often, you are better off with the Mistsplitter Reforged or the Amenoma Kageuchi to maximize your elemental DMG up-time.
