What is the Best Starting Class in Diablo Immortal?
If you’re a veteran player, you’ll already know which class or playstyle you prefer, but newcomers will want to pick one that provides the best gameplay experience while avoiding any unnecessary challenges.
From our experience playing, the Barbarian and Crusader are the best classes in Diablo Immortal. Both the Barbarian and the Crusader are melee damage dealers who can take a beating while tearing opponents down.
The Barbarian has healing skills that allow it to turn damage into health, but the Crusader forgoes this ability in favor of greater ranged assaults and area of effect abilities. When coupled with their devastating attacks, they have the ability to absorb a significant amount of damage, which enables their teammates to heal during the time that they have while they wait for their cooldown.
For that reason, these are the classes of choice for newcomers, whose weapons and skills are simpler to grasp. Additionally, the Barbarian and Crusader classes are well-suited for both competitive and cooperative play in both PvP and PvE environments.
Naturally, you can boost various stats by wearing specialized gear, but that’s a completely different matter. The most important thing is to find a class that you enjoy playing, as all of them will be essential at some point.
How to Change Classes in Diablo Immortal?
Class Change in Diablo Immortal will be available “shortly thereafter in a patch,” however, you can’t possibly expect it at the game’s official launch.
To change classes, players can head to Westmarch, according to a recent development update blog post.
“When you change your class, you’ll retain all your progress on Paragon levels. You’ll receive a new set of equipped items appropriate to your new class, and you can transfer all of your item progress and gems to them. None of your old equipped items or stash will be lost, and your progress on Horadric Vessels and the Helliquary will stick around too.”
It simply says that Blizzard wants players to try out a wide range of Classes and abilities. However, it said that players that stick to one class will generally be better off, stating:
“Because the process of collecting Legendary affixes is time-consuming, we expect players who focus on a single class will have some advantages, like a broader selection of available character builds.”
