When it comes to discerning which faction is better in Dying Light 2: Peacekeepers or Survivors it all comes down to taste. Your mileage may vary. Here is which faction is better between the Peacekeepers and the Survivors.
Peacekeepers vs. Survivors: Which Faction is Better in Dying Light 2?
Objectively, the Peacekeepers offer better rewards than the survivors. Their focus on combat oriented perks gives players plenty of power behind their muscles.
Of course, this is purely objective. Players who prefer room to breathe will find the parkour oriented perks of the Survivors to be enticing.
This is purely up to player taste as to which side they prefer, whether that be narrative wise or gameplay wise. Would you value the liberty and united community of the Survivors or the watchful authority of the Peacekeepers?
Why You Should Join the Peacekeepers in Dying Light 2
You should join the Peacekeepers in Dying Light 2 because their ideology and doctrine make sense.
Considering the state of the world, it isn’t difficult to sympathize with the strict ideology of the Peacekeepers. You might not be fond of militant states but you can’t deny that violence is necessary in the world of Dying Light. How are your methods to make things better for the people of Villedor City different from that of the Peacekeepers?
The Peacekeepers are a far more organized group. They actually come off as rather welcoming despite initial impressions. Compare that to the Survivors where the Bazaar inhabitants solution was to hang you to death upon first contact. Not exactly a good first impression. On one side quest, they we’re also going to sentence another man to hang without proper investigation into his poisoned waters.
Assist the Peacekeepers and they’re more than willing to stick to their word and return the favor. Provided that you show them loyalty.
Dying Light 2 Peacekeeper Reward Perks
Here are the Peacekeeper faction perks in Dying Light 2. Allying yourself with the Peacekeeper nets you one of the best ranged weapons in the game, which is the Crossbow Pack. Aside from the Bow and the handmade Boomstick shotgun, it is one of the only true ranged weapon in Dying Light 2.
Car Traps | Aiden can trigger various cars in Peacekeeper territories to attract infected around the area and then explode. |
Razor Cannon | Peacekeepers will place cannons around their territory which Aiden can use to rain down heavy fire upon infected hordes. |
Electrical Traps | Peacekeepers lay traps on the streets that Aiden can trigger to fry enemies caught on them. |
Crossbow Pack | The Peacekeepers will give Aiden a special crossbow as thanks for helping them. This crossbow has special elemental bolts. |
Molotov Lanterns | Peacekeepers will set up Molotov lanterns around their territory which can be hit which will cause fire down below. |
Pendulum Traps | Peacekeepers set up a big Pendulum trap which will crush anything in its way. |
UV Light | Peacekeepers enforce their territory further by setting up UV lights to keep Aiden safe during chases and restore his immunity. |
Why You Should Join the Survivors in Dying Light 2
You should join the Survivors in Dying Light 2 for their loyalty towards each other and tight cooperative community.
If you don’t like the thought of authoritarianism in the zombie apocalypse, then the Survivors are a haven for those seeking shelter from the worst. They may not initially come off as welcoming and are quite a bit judgmental. But once you earn their trust, there are no greater allies.
The Survivor perks are great for those who want breathing room. Turn Villedor into your very own playground as they set up ziplines, airbags, and air vents which will allow for greater vertical traversal.
You’ll find no thicker allies than the ones who need you the most.
Dying Light 2 Survivor Reward Perks
Here are the Survivor faction perks in Dying Light 2. There isn’t really any offensive weapons offered by the Survivors but they more than make up for it by giving you the best ways to travel around The City.
Ziplines | Survivors set up ziplines in their territories for Aiden to use. This makes traveling much easier. |
Airbags | Aiden can use airbags on the ground which will allow him to jump further and higher. |
Landing Bags | Survivors set up landing bags around the streets to ensure Aiden doesn’t take damage from falling to great a height. |
Survivor Revival | When Aiden bites off more than he can chew and falls from a great height, a survivor will come around and lend him a hand in their territories. |
Air Vents | Survivors set up air vents that restore stamina and give altitude when using the Paraglider. |
Upgraded Airbags | Survivor Airbags can be used to greater effect. |
Two Way Ziplines | Ziplines set up by survivors now travel both ways. |
Which Is the Best Faction to Join in Dying Light 2?
There is no real best faction to join between the Survivors and the Peacekeepers in Dying Light 2. The moral of the game’s narrative can too complex enough to make a black-and-white statement. It’s really up to your compass on which ideology you agree with.
There is good news. You don’t need to exclusively ally yourself with a single faction. You can mix and match depending on the time of need on certain particular moments. Your faction alignment choices won’t be locked to a single faction for the entirety of Villedor. It is all up to your role-playing preferences of who you think Aiden should side with. He is your own custom character after all.
If you’re looking at it from a reward perk perspective, then the Peacekeepers help you out more than not. While the Survivors make a compelling alternative to the game’s parkour system, the Peacekeeper utilizes weapons which will make any district in Villedor your own playground.
