Where to Find and Catch Cherrim | Pokémon Legends: Arceus

A guide on how to easily get a Cherrim.

cherrim

Cherrim is one of the returning Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and has garnered quite a stir in the game’s player base due to its rarity. Cherrims and its pre-evo Cherubis do not show up in the overworld the same way as most of the Pokémon do, which also adds to the difficulty of spotting one in the wild. Learn the best places to spot a Cherrim to get one for yourself in this guide.

How to Get a Cherrim

Hitting a Shaking Tree

Cherrims can be encountered by throwing a Pokémon at a shaking tree in one of these areas:

  • Obsidian Fieldlands
    • The Heartwood
  • Crimson Mirelands
    • Gapejaw Bog
  • Coronet Highlands
    • Lonely Spring
    • Fabled Spring
    • Primeval Grotto

Evolve a Cherubi

A Cherubi will evolve into a Cherrim once it reaches level 25. You can also get Cherubis from the shaking trees in the areas listed above.

Cherubis can also rarely spawn in mass outbreaks exclusively in The Heartwood area of the Obsidian Fieldlands.

How to Get a Cherrim Sunshine Form

All of the Cherrims that you will encounter from shaking trees will always be in Overcast Form. If the encounter happens during day time and the weather is Sunny, Cherrim will gain the Strong Sunlight effect and transform into its Sunshine Form.

This transformation will only happen if Cherrim is engaged in a battle with the Strong Sunlight effect; it cannot be triggered just by sending out Cherrim from its Pokeball. Once the battle is done and Cherrim goes back to its Pokeball, or if the weather or time of day changes during a battle, Cherrim will revert into its Overcast Form. Therefore, there is no way to permanently keep Cherrim in its Sunshine Form.

You only need to make Cherrim transform into its Sunshine Form for the form to get logged in your Pokedex.

Once a Cherrim transforms into its Sunshine Form, its Attack and Special Defense stats will be slightly raised until it reverts into its Overcast Form.

Best Route to Catch a Cherrim

The most efficient way to spot and catch Cherrims is by doing the travel route in the Coronet Highlands. Start from fast traveling to the Mountain Camp, then check all of the fruit-bearing trees in the Lonely Spring area for shaking ones. Then, move to the Primeval Grotto and check the trees in there. Lastly, move to the Fabled Spring and check the trees in there.

If a Cherrim still has not showed up, fast travel back to any of the camps and head back to Jubilife Village. Travel back to the Coronet Highlands and do the same route until you get a Cherrim or a Cherubi.
