The Diablo Immortal Bestiary is a collectible system in the game where players get to fill the Bestiary with pages full of information about the creatures that roam in the Sanctuary. It’s a way to get players to be more immersed in the lore of the game.
In this guide, we will be talking about the Diablo Immortal Bestiary, how to unlock it, and how to fill up its pages.
How to unlock the Bestiary in Diablo Immortal
The Bestiary can be unlocked by completing the Horadric Bestiary quest line that happens in Dark Wood. You will have to travel to the Rogue Battlecamp where you will have to defeat a bunch of Fallen. Afterwards, you will have to talk to Akara who will give you the ability to access the Bestiary.
How to level up the Bestiary in Diablo Immortal
Once the Bestiary is unlocked, enemies that you defeat in your quest will now have the chance to drop Monstrous Essence which is needed to uncover pages in the Bestiary. You will have to collect 10 Monstrous Essences to be able to uncover a page.
Update: As of the official release, the Bestiary does not provide any Life or Damage bonuses per uncovered page unlike how it worked back in the closed beta version. No further info yet on whether the Bestiary will contribute towards character progression once again.
How to easily farm Monstrous Essences
You can get Monstrous Essences from any monster that you defeat in the open world, so this means that you can even obtain them while doing your dailies like your bounties and zone events.
You can also go to areas such as the Frozen Tundra or Ashworld Cemetery to farm for these Monstrous Essences as these areas are sprawling with monsters, plus the have high spawn rates. Just be mindful of how many essences you have on you; you can put up a tracker to count your essences.
Remember that the monster your defeat nor the area you are farming will not affect the result of your page uncovers.
Uncovering pages rely on RNG
The catch is that uncovering Bestiary pages rely on RNG and there are no ways to influence what particular page will be uncovered. Another thing to keep in mind connected to this is that uncovered pages will still remain in the uncovering pool, so there can be times that you will uncover duplicate pages.
Maximum of 10 Monstrous Essences
You can only hold 10 Monstrous Essences at a time, after which they will no longer drop from enemies, so once you have 10, visit any Bestiary to deposit them and uncover a page.
Daily limit of 3 page uncovers
You’ll only have three chances of uncovering pages per day which resets on the following day. During these three chances, you will also get Battle Points for your battle pass. Once all three chances are used up for the day, you will no longer be able to uncover more pages or gain Battle Points, but you can continue turning in Monstrous Essences to still get more experience, gold, and items.
Diablo Immortal Bestiary Rewards
Every time you turn in your Monstrous Essences, you will be greatly rewarded for the effort. These are the rewards that you can get:
- Uncover chance and Bestiary XP (max 3/day)
- 40 Battle Points (max 3/day)
- Gold
- ~200k Character Experience
- Items
- Quality can be Common, Magic, Rare, or Legendary
