Pyre Rakna-Kadaki is a new subspecies introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. It is a more explosive subspecies of the Rakna-Kadaki that has adapted the blast element. It is a more menacing subspecies that will sure to give hunters a more heightened challenge.
In this guide, we will talk about Pyre Rakna-Kadaki and share some tips on how to make the hunt for it more manageable.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki Characteristics
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki is a temnoceran and a subspecies of the Rakna-Kadaki. It usually found in the volcanic region and thus has taken in more elements from its surroundings. Because of this, it has incorporated the blast element to its attacks,
Along with its introduction come the Pyrantula which is the Pyre Rakna-Kadaki’s younglings. They are similar to the Rachnoid, but have also taken in the blast element. They tend to follow hunters around when they’re not attached to their mother, and when they come close, they either shoot out flames or explode and cause blastblight.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki can still use the Pyrantula as a way to latch on to the ground to use them as hooks to move around an area. Their silk has also become more durable enough to handle the heat that it can sometimes be used as a wick to lead fireballs towards the Pyrantula.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki Weaknesses
- Weak Points – Head, Leg (Thread)
- Elemental/Ailment Weakness – Water, Ice, Stun
- Elemental/Ailment Resistance – Fire, Thunder, Dragon, Poison, Blast, Exhaust
- Resistant Points – Claw
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki is extremely weak to the water element, followed by the ice element. Its head is its weakest point and because of that, it is also susceptible to getting stunned. However, its claws are almost always in the way, so windows to hit the head can be quite slim.
Another option is to go for its leg threads which break easily and make Pyre Rakna-Kadaki stagger or trip. It can rebind silk onto its legs but it won’t heal any of its health.
Pyre Rakna Kadaki Moves
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki retains some of its moves from Rakna-Kadaki with some minor changes. Listed below are the most notable moves in its move set.
- Claw Swipes: It uses its claws to swipe down on its target. It can also turn its body around to increase the range of its swipe.
- Claw Slam: It slams both of its claws while inflicting blastblight.
- Slide: Pyre Rakna-Kadaki shoots out a Pyrantula attached with a silk and pulls on it to slide to its position.
- Fire Breath: It shoots out fire from its mouth. It can re-aim and re-fire. During its rage state, it can shoot the flame from side to side while walking.
- Webbing: It shoots out web to cover its abdomen. Nearby hunters will also get webbed.
- Web Spray: It sprays out jets of silk from its mouth. When a hunter gets hit, they will be webbed and won’t be able to move for a few seconds or until they get hit.
- Flamethrower: It fires up from its thorax and then shoots out a huge plume of flame from its side. It can then walk sideways to chase its target with its flame.
- Flame Purge: It fires up its thorax and emits a blast aura followed by a blast of flame.
- Abdomen Pound: It pounds its abdomen to the ground, either during its bare state or webbed state.
- Abdomen Swing: It swings its abdomen to hit its target while flinging out more Pyrantulas.
- Back It Up: It lowers its abdomen and charges backwards at its target.
- Pyrantula Bombs: It shoots out multiple Pyrantulas around attached with silk. It then later shoots out flames that coarse through the silk and make the Pyrantulas explode at the end. The flames can also deal damage. The Pyrantulas can be shot out in a fan shape or radially scattered.
How to Beat Pyre Rakna-Kadaki in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
- Breaking its leg threads first is recommended as this will cause Pyre Rakna-Kadaki to topple down. When it is down, it usually extends its head forward, making it easy to hit.
- Breaking its webbed abdomen also helps as it makes the abdomen attacks less dangerous and it shortens their hit range a bit.
- Inflicting thunderblight can help make it more susceptible to stuns.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki has two phases: normal and rage state.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki Normal Phase
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki will mostly be using its Pyrantulas to move around and reposition. It will also be using its claws and its abdomen for attacks.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki Rage Phase
Once it enters its rage state, Pyre Rakna-Kadaki’s mouth will start emitting fire. It will now transition into using more of its fire attacks such as the Flame Thrower and the Pyrantula Bombs. Attacking it at its legs at this point will prevent it from attacking as much. Destroying its webbed abdomen will also help topple it down and reduce the damage of its abdomen attacks.
