Greninja is the next Pokémon that will be added into Scarlet and Violet through another special Tera Raid event. Similar to the previous Charizard and Cinderace events, players will be able to encounter to fight Greninja in its powered up 7-Star Tera form. This event runs from January 27, 2023 to January 29, 2023 and will have a rerun at February 10, 2023 – February 12, 2023.
Read ahead as we talk about the 7-Star Greninja Tera Raid Event while we share some tips and builds on how to easily take Greninja down.
7-Star Greninja Stats
Greninja will be available to encounter as a 7-Star Tera Raid, which means that it will be at level 100 with all perfect stats. All encountered Greninjas in these raids will have a Poison Tera type. It will also have the Mightiest Mark when caught.
Greninja Potential Moves:
Greninja has the following moves for this encounter:
- Double Team
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Night Slash
Greninja Abilities:
Greninja has Protean as its ability.
- Protean changes the type of the Pokémon based on the type of its attack. This ability will be nullified during Tera Raids.
Can Greninja be caught?
Yes, this event’s Greninja can be caught, but only once per save file. It can still be challenged multiple times while the event is still up. Greninja can be bred to produce Froakie eggs, though the entire Greninja line won’t be listed in the regional dex.
Top Pokémon Builds to counter 7-Star Greninja
Slowbro Build:
- Ability: Oblivious
- Held Item: Leftovers
- Tera Type: Psychic
- Max Stat: HP / Def
- Moves:
- Iron Defense
- Nasty Plot
- Stored Power
- Slack Off
Slowbro has shown its effective build through the Cinderace Tera Raid event with its Stored Power move, but at the cost of having a long setup.
Clodsire Build:
- Ability: Water Absorb
- Held Item: Leftovers
- Tera Type: Ground
- Max Stat: HP / Sp.Def
- Moves:
- Acid Spray
- Earth Power
- Recover
- Stockpile
Clodsire’s Water Absorb Ability will make Water type attacks ineffective, with the bonus effect of healing it. Plus, the Poison typing will also nullify any Poison attacks coming its way. You may need to pump up the PP on Earth Power to make sure that you have enough to last the entire fight.
