Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted is the 17th season of the game and returns players once again to The Leviathan, a planet-devouring behemoth of a ship. Veterans will be familiar with this location as The Leviathan was the setting for many of the game’s previous activities. There are new loot, activities, and other things to look forward to this season.

What’s New in Season of the Haunted in Destiny 2?
Players can look forward to the new Solar subclass 3.0 rework that will be implemented in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted. There will be a new dungeon that is purchased separately from Season of the Haunted and there will be a plethora of new loot to look forward to.
In Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted, players will be tasked to investigate what’s going on with The Leviathan and why it fled from Nessus’ orbit back to our solar system. Its owner, Emperor Calus of the Cabal, has stationed the ship above the Moon and is taking on some of its Nightmares. Players can explore the ship to find out more about what’s going on and wield a powerful scythe allowing them to “become the reaper.”
There are two new activities in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted.
- Nightmare Containment
- Sever
The Nightmare Containment is a free public event that any player can participate in. It will take place in The Leviathan and players will likely be able to roam around the area. Sever, however, is only available to players who have purchased Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted. It will take place below The Leviathan in some old raid arenas. Players will have to discover what Emperor Calus is up to and remove his control of the Nightmares.
Familiar and new loot are making a return to Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted. Veterans from Destiny 1 may remember the Trespasser Exotic Arc sidearm and it’s making its way into this season’s season pass track. Other familiar weapons include four from the Season of Opulence’s Menagerie activity. It isn’t all old faces as four new weapons are coming this season including one that seems to be a Stasis trace rifle.
