Disney Dreamlight Valley has released a new winter update with a fresh set of festive quests to complete. This includes new decorations, holiday costumes, festive designs, and much more, all inspired by the winter holiday season.
These new Festive Dreamlight Duties can be found under the Village Tab. However, seasonal duties don’t explain exactly what you need to do, so they can be challenging if you’re not prepared. Read on, and this guide will show you how to complete all the festive duties in the holiday update.
How to Complete All Festive Quests
To celebrate the holidays, you can complete 5 new festive quests/duties under the Village tab in the Dreamlight Menu, which are as follows:
- A Home For the Holidays
- Cookie Taste Test
- Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?
- Even Fish Are Festive!
- Ho! Ho! Ho!
Each one has a unique set of steps you must do in order to complete it, but once you do, you’ll receive a special reward. As such, here’s everything you need to know:
Cookie Taste Test
This one requires you to eat 3 different kinds of cookies. Here’s a list of recipes you can cook to progress this quest:
- Minnie’s Gingerbread Cookies – Ginger x1, Wheat x1
- Wonderland Cookies – Butter x1, Vanilla x1, Sugarcane x1, Wheat x1
- Chocolate Chip Cookies – Cocoa Bean x1, Wheat x1, Sugarcane x1, Butter x1
- “My Hero” Cookie – Wheat x1, Cocoa Bean or Vanilla x1, Butter x1
Cookie Taste Test Quest Reward: Festive Candy Ears
Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?
For this one, you simply need to craft any snowman you can find under the Furniture Tab in the Crafting Recipes Menu. After crafting one, place it anywhere in your valley. If you already have a snowman placed in your valley, simply stash it back in, then place it back again.
Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? Quest Reward: Festive Candy Ears with Bow
A Home For the Holidays
Place 5 festive items/furniture inside your home. You can place the same item more than once.
Keep in mind that only items/furniture crafted using the new holiday crafting recipes or obtained through the new star path will work.
A Home For the Holidays Quest Reward: Winter Carpet
Even Fish Are Festive!
The objective is to catch one of each of the 5 festive fish found across different biomes in Dreamlight Valley.
Keep in mind that Festive Fish can only be found in red and green-colored fishing nodes (bubbling circles). As such, the locations of all five festive fish are as follows:
- Festive Anglerfish – Forgotten Lands
- Festive Bass – Peaceful Meadow
- Festive Fugu – Dazzle Beach (Can only be caught during a Stormy Weather)
- Festive Salmon – Sunlit Plateau
- Festive Squid – Glade of Trust
Even Fish Are Festive! Quest Reward: Santa Hat
Prior to the December 6 update, no holiday fish were spawning, hence this quest was event-locked. Only since December 18, 2022, has this quest been accessible.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
The objective is to give gifts to 10 different villagers in your valley. However, you can only progress this quest by crafting any of the 4 new holiday gift items waiting for you under the Functional Items category in your Crafting Collection:
- Delicious Gift – Requires 1x Festive Wrapping Paper, 1x Hot Cocoa, 1x Minnie’s Gingerbread Cookies.
- Handcrafted Gift – Requires 1x Festive Wrapping Paper, 1x Holiday Feast Chair.
- Naughty Gift – Requires 1x Festive Wrapping Paper, 1x Coal Ore.
- Shiny Gift – Requires 1x Festive Wrapping Paper, 1x Shiny Ruby, 1x Shiny Emerald.
Festive wrapping paper rolls will be strewn about Scrooge McDuck’s shop beginning on December 18 and continuing through the end of the holiday season. As such, in order to make 10 gifts, players must find and pick up a total of 10 wrapping paper rolls. Keep in mind that gathering paper rolls will probably take a few days since you can currently only receive roughly 2 paper rolls per day.
Once you’ve gathered 10 or more Wrapping paper rolls, proceed to a crafting station and make the festive gifts shown above. Give them to ten different characters in your valley afterwards to finish the quest.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Quest Reward: Pile of Gifts
Wrapping Paper Rolls weren't spawning prior to the December 6 update, hence this quest was event-locked. Only since December 18, 2022, has this item been accessible.
