There are various weapons Kratos can use in the game. Each has its own perks and skills that make them distinguishable and powerful to use against various enemies. These weapons are easy to unlock and will provide so much enjoyable challenge as Kratos will learn how to master them thoroughly.

Leviathan Axe

One of the most powerful weapons that Kratos used is the Leviathan Axe. This axe possesses an ice elemental attribute and possesses as well strong long-range and short-range attacks that can devastate enemies from a distance. This weapon is unlocked at the start of the game, during the Surviving Fimbulwinter.

Blades of Chaos

No one can ever outrun their past as the Blades of Chaos is now again a staple weapon of Kratos to be used in Ragnarok. Possessing a fire elemental attribute, this weapon can sweep the floor out of enemies and deal with one of the goriest attacks that Kratos has incurred on his mortal enemies. This weapon is unlocked at the start of the game, during the Surviving Fimbulwinter.

Shields

There are a a variety of shields found in the game and each of them is not only used for defending. Some of them can inflict counter-attacks, AOEs, and more. The shields found in God of War Ragnarok including where to get them are the following:

  • Dauntless shield
    • A shield fit for high-risk and high-reward parries. This shield is purchasable from the blacksmith shop
  • Stone Wall Shield
    • A shield fit for absorbing attacks and striking back. This shield is purchasable from the blacksmith shop
  • Shatter Star Shield
    • A shield fit for staying mobile and charging up. This shield is purchasable from the blacksmith shop
  • Guardian Shield
    • A shield fit for a balance of defensive options. This weapon is given to Kratos at the start of Chapter 8: The World Of Fate.
  • Onslaught Shield
    • A shield fit for safely advancing on enemies. This shield is unique and can be unlocked through 2 methods. The first is in a legendary chest that can be found immediately after the Garm boss fight in Helheim. The second is in the blacksmith shop and can be bought or 7500 Hacksilver.

Draupnir Spear

The Draupnir spear is a whole new weapon that Kratos will unlock during Chapter 10: Forging Destiny. It possesses a Wind elemental attribute that is able to sun enemies quickly and effectively offer great combos from close to long-range options. Throwing the spear will embed enemies and will explode on detonation.

If players manage to collect all the weapons and upgrades for Kratos, they will receive the following achievements in the game if they want to reach Platinum achievement.
