Fiske in God of War Ragnarok is an Einherjar who is considered to be Odin’s champion and stands in the way of Kratos’ path. This scythe wielding boss has to be defeated in order for the God of War to continue. Read on, and this guide will teach you all the tricks and tips to beat Fiske in God of War Ragnarok.

How to Defeat Fiske in God of War Ragnarok?

The best way to beat Fiske in God of War Ragnarok is by counter attacking after dodging his scythe that is imbued with bifröst. Fiske is a slow attacking boss with predictable but shifting attacks that can usually be avoided by dodging backwards.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when fighting Fiske:

  • Fiske is slow but his attacks have a wide berth so dodging sideways is usually not ideal unless you’re rolling. You’re safer when dodging backwards and then counter attacking.
  • The scythe Fiske is using will glow purple and momentarily turn into a spear. When this happens, he will instead thrust his spear at you rather than make the horizontal swings he usually does. When his scythe is like this, you should dodge sideways.
  • Fiske can charge at you from afar by turning his scythe into a spear. This move can be parried and counterattacked.
  • The Leviathan Axe is better for dealing damage against Fiske than the Blades of Chaos.
  • There are moments when Fiske will boast in the middle of battle by raising his weapon in the air. He’s vulnerable like this and take your chance to attack him as much as possible.
  • Fiske often leaves a large opening when parried giving you a lot of chances to sneak in some hits. If you’re capable of it, try to parry his attacks rather than dodging.
  • It is important to avoid getting hit when Fiske’s scythe turns purple as it becomes imbued with bifröst. This takes some time to wear off and will take out a significant chunk of your health if you’re hit in rapid succession.

When Fiske is on the last half of his last health bar, he will drop to the ground and have the R3 prompt which finishes him off. Once you’ve interacted with this, you’re done with Fiske in God of War Ragnarok.

Like many other boss, Fiske is vulnerable to Spartan Rage. So if you opt to use it instead of Valor, you can get a lot of hits in. Though ultimately neither is necessary if you know how to time your counterattacks right.
