God of War Ragnarok – Animal Instincts Favor Walkthrough

Animal Instincts is among the various favors you can find in God of War Ragnarok. This will be available to players once Kratos and Freya travels back to Midgard in search for the Norns, as part of the main path: The World of Fate.

Read on, and this guide will go over everything you need to know to complete The Animal Instincts Favor/side quest, including some tips and solutions along the way.

Animal Instincts Favor Overview

  • Objectives:
    • Eliminate the Kol Raider Camps
    • Return to the Wolves
  • Rewards:
    • Kratos XP – 1000
    • Freya XP – 250
    • Crackle of Bilskirnir
    • Amulet Enchantment [Elemental Evasion]

The Animal Instincts Favor takes place in Midgard, specifically in the region called Lake of Nine. Your mission is to find and eliminate Kol Raider Camps, and the quest will automatically start once you clear out one of these camps.

Each camp has its own set of Kol Raiders and Kol Raider Scouts, and you must kill them all before moving on to the next one. Make sure to track this favor for waypoints and explore the camps for collectibles, which we will go over in a separate article.

All Kol Raider Camp Locations

There are 4 Kol Raider Camp Locations in total, and we’ve compiled a list on where to find all of them below:

1. Raider Fort (West)

You’ll find a campfire spewing black smoke to the west of Tyr’s temple, on the left side of the ice lake. Climb over the ledge to discover this region.

2. Raider Stronghold (Center)

Situated in the middle of Lake of Nine. You can find the entrance near the big dome, next to the elevator that takes you to Tyr’s Temple.

3. Raider Hideout (East)

Situated in a small cave to the west of the King’s Grave. Go down the road that ends at the massive wall. When you get to the end, there will be a cave entrance on your left.

4. Raider Keep (South)

You’ll find a small cave entrance rigged with wooden spikes to the south of south of Tyr’s Temple. See the image above for reference. Scale over the ledge to discover this region.

There are no Collectibles found in this Region.
Besties Silver Trophy - God of War Ragnarok – Animal Instincts Favor Walkthrough

You’ll eventually have to fight a boss called Oluf Nautson in the last camp that you have to eliminate. To be specific, this boss won’t appear until only 1 camp (can be any of the 4 camps) is left to clear.

After eliminating all the Kol Raider Camps, Return to the Wolf Sled to complete this Favor and receive the Besties Silver Trophy.
